I don't post a lot but am due with my 5th May 16th. I am considered high risk for mutiple reasons. I have pregnancy induced hypertension, anemic, had preterm deliveries, previous gestational diabetes, advanced age etc. I just went to consultation and had US with Maternal/fetal specialist. I have to go back every 4 weeks until 32 and then weekly afterwards to be monitored closely. Plus I see the OB every month or more sometimes. Anyone else have a similar situation?

I am AMA and pregnant via IVF. I see my OB every 2 weeks and the MFM for the bigger milestones... so far no other issues yet...it is my first pregnancy. Goof luck!

I'm high risk with type I (juvenile) diabetes. I also have an autoimmune thyroid condition. With my daughter I saw my ob every 2 weeks..not sure why but this time it has only been 1x a month (so far)...perhaps because my thyroid isn't so wonky this time (yet anyway). I will have high risk ultrasounds at the hospital starting on the 19th (will be 20 weeks). Last time everything worked out great for me (drug free spontaneous birth, DD was an average weight and had no low blood sugars after) so I'm hoping for the same this time!

I am/was at MFM for Antiphospholipid Syndrome and my heart mainly but also for twins and autoimmune thyroid but I try not to see them as much as possible. We agreed that I could be released to my regular OB until later in the pregnancy and then reasses. I hate this co-management thing they try to do that ends up with me seeing them for appointments and my OB for the same stupid stuff. And my insurance doesn't cover MFM the same way as it covers OB and I end up havingto pay out of pocket every time I see them. My lovenox and stuff doesn't have to be monitored by them so until something else more pressing comes up, I'm staying primarily with my OB.

Well last time I had GD so I will most likely be placed in the "high risk" category even tho last time I completely controlled the GD with diet.. And had a 6lb 7oz baby boy.

I am seeing one because of incompetent cervix. I had a cervical cerclage placed about a month ago. I am primarily being seen/monitored by my OB/GYN and at 21 weeks will go back for a scan to check cervical length.

I have antiphosolipid syndrome as well. I saw the perinatalogist at 13.5 weeks, again at 15.5 weeks and the next at 22 weeks. My OB said I will see her for monthly ultrasounds until around 32 weeks. Then I will go to either weekly or bi-weekly ultrasounds to monitor baby's growth. I will see my hematologist on Friday (6 month visit). Not sure if he will want to see me again before the baby is born or not.
