Yesterday I had a midwife "appointment" at my house. What really happened is she came over for dinner and we hung out for three and a half hours, with random appt things tossed in there. Everything was great! I brought my hydration up into the green (remember, green is lush rain forest and tan is Sahara desert and mine was very light tan) and all the other things I had issues with last time had been resolved.
When she did the doppler, Ireleigh was a maniac! She was dancing all over and repeatedly kicked the wand. Already a wild thing like mama!! I don't remember what the heart rate was but everything was perfect!
Happy that the appointment was a nice comfortable get together

It is SO nice. She said it isn't like this with every client but because we were friends before we were birthing buddies, it helps. I contacted her when I was pregnant with Elan, my first loss, and made an initial consult appt. I lost baby before it happened but we decided to meet up anyways and we just clicked!! She was my midwife for my second loss and we kept in touch when I moved away. I knew I was moving back so I kept her informed on this pregnancy until I was back in town and now we get to have fun! My next appointment I am going to her house and we have planned an outing to the Teavana in the city she lives in (about 40 minutes from me!) because I love tea and have never been. I seriously recommend finding a midwife you love if you want a more low-key experience!
