...and I want to punch women in the face who tell me "Oh baby has a lot of hair!" This is NOT helpful!

But yeah, I dealt with acid reflux for months before getting pregnant and was about to have an endoscopy but then I got pregnant.

The acid is coming up into my throat at night, waking me up. But peppermint tea seems to help during the day.

Eeeeek. Yeah. Heartburn is not a fun one. It makes my mouth water when it happens. I've gone through almost an entire bottle of Tums. Drinking milk helps sometimes, but then I can't burp because there's all that extra liquid just sitting, waiting to come up.

And ditto about the hair thing. That doesn't make it any better or any easier!

GERD is horrible! My first was the cause of mine and I've had it since. Prilosec OTC worked wonders for me. I still have episodes but they are such fewer and farther between.

I had terrible h/b with DS and ended up on Prilosec - which helped but didn't completely control it either. He really did have a headful of hair though, LOL! I know at the time I was all "he can be bald for all I care I just want some relief".

I thought I knew what heartburn was before but it sure as heck was nothing like I had experienced before pregnancy! It's freaking brutal. All day and all night and sooo painful. How i lasted 4 days before crying to my OB about what was safe lol. The OB said to get the heartburn meds that just had ranitidine in them, they are supposed to be safe and they worked for the full 12 hours they were supposed to! Saved my life lol. Constant heartburn to zero heartburn was the most magical feeling.

Ugh that is awful! I had some bad acid reflux in the first trimester and that was the first time in my 32 years I have had it. Hope you find some relief!

Oh and I had 3 babies all with a good amount of hair and never had heartburn with any of them..

I hate people that quote wives tales when you say anything. My sister in law had such brutal heartburn from the day day she found out she was pregnant until the day that bebe was born. They ended up putting her prescription meds the entire pregnancy. Her baby was completely bald. I thought she was going to murder everyone who had given her the "your baby will have hair" crap lol. She was so excited about a hairy baby :-P

I have acid reflux that in the past I was treating with nexium I went off it for a while and was symptom free and now pregnancy has exsasterbated the already existing condition making it terrible. I get heart burn at least once a day and every night. Had the same with my son and he came out with peach fuzz lol! I'm assuming this one will be bald too but I don't care I'm just ready for the heartburn to end!!!!

I've had horrible heartburn with each pregnancy. I don't take meds no matter how bad it gets I justdon't feel comfortable. I use papaya in pill form. Eating a scoop of vanilla ice cream also helps. For me the "burn" doesn't go away but it's more manageable.

I have horrible heartburn too. usually tums or milk help. The other night was the first night it woke up because the acid had acutally come up my throat. I thought i was going to die from coughing so much. Worst thing ever!

Hope yours gets better!!

I should have known better than to think it wasn't going to happen to me.

I had it sooo badly this time last year that I went to the ER twice. Doctors thought it was my galbladder at first because the pain was radiating to my back.

That's interesting about the cucumbers, I'll try that.
