Ok everyone. My mom's high risk hip replacement and bone graft surgery is tomorrow. As I've stated before, with all of her medical complications and immune disorder, this surgery is very dicey. Doctor's are saying at best 50/50 chance of a major complication.
Of course, I'm emotionally already a wreck. I worry and I'm pregnant. That equals emotions all over the place. I really don't want to lose her, especially before I have my first child.
Just please keep her in your thoughts.

Good luck! I'm an orthopedic nurse and all
I can say is to take one thing at a time and deal with it as it comes. I don't know her history but hip patients do well with the proper care and precautions in place. I wish you both all the best.
Thanks Vicki... for my beautiful siggy!
Mom got through the surgery in the best possible way. No blood transfusions needed. The bone graft was less structurally needed than the doctors thought, so mainly for strengthening of the joint. She has already started her PT this morning and had breakfast. Doing well. Now if she can get through recovery without an infection, it's looking pretty good!
I'm so very thankful for the thoughts and prayers. Her surgery turned out better than anyone really hoped for a patient like her. I know those well wishes played a part.
I'm just on cloud 9. Now if only LO would stop break dancing in the womb, cuz it really hurts!
