After reading Kelly and CervixCramps high BP posts, I'm starting to get worried about this rib pain. Can any of you who have had high BP and this pain tell me what it feels like?

Ive been treating this pain for over a week now as if it were muscle-related (heat, back support). But there are days, like yesterday, where nothing touched the pain and I was literally crying. This week has been the worst so far and my calves, ankles and feet are swollen for the first time this pregnancy.

Probably being overly cautious here but its part so tired of being in so much pain and part thinking it could be something else.

Do you have high blood pressure? Midwife told me its almost like an indigestion pain right in the middle of your chest but more relentless. I assume that means burning and pressure? I havent had it yet so I dont know for sure.

No its usually in the 100/60 range, so it would be odd for it to shoot up so high to be pre-e, right?

I wish I was paying more attention to pain levels after I eat so I could rule out my gallbladder.

As much as I want to find the cause so I can get some relief, I hope its nothing more than unfortunate muscle pain.

I woudlnt think its anything to do with Pre E or BP. Im up in the 80s right now and still dont really have any symptoms. in the 60s I think you are very very safe.

I think gallbladder pain is more off to your right side not in the center?

My pain was across the entire front, right under my ribs. It was similar to indigestion but more extreme and stabbing. It definitely made me cry and hurt to breath in or out. Seems like your BP is pretty good though. Tell your ob just in case

If you drew a vertical and horizontal like across my belly button my pain is/was in the right section looking down closer to my boob, but not touching my ribs. They said it was part of the contractions I was having, though couldn't feel them...

I'm not expert but I would think higher bp would be a symptom before rib pain when it comes to pre-e. I haven't had rib pain or pre-e though. When's your next appointment?

Check your b/p. If its fine then you probably are just having muscle pain (although a lot of women start having gallbladder issues during pg as well). My b/p has been in the 150's over mid 90's and I've never felt that pain I can tell my b/p goes up by the headache and overall anxious feeling I get.

I ended up going to the ER last night (which, get this, they kept me in the ER because I was having "chest pain" but had I said "abdominal pain" they would have sent me up to L&D; go figure!) They ruled out pre-e and liver issues and all other bloodwork came back good. But they couldn't get see my gallbladder b/c of baby's position and b/c I had eaten a few hours beforehand, so I have to get one done tomorrow. They think it could be gallstones, or because my uterus is sitting "unusually high" I could have some inflammation.
