The doctor just phoned. Apparently my fluid levels 2 weeks ago were completely normal but yesterday they were 34 cms which is insane. Theyre supposed to be under 20. So they're calling in an OB in the big city for a c-section tomorrow afternoon sometime. He says being induced is out of the question with the fluid level as well as babys size. The scary part of the c-section is the risk of hemorrhaging for me. Its much higher due to the sudden strain on my uterus with all the fluids. He also said they will be making a much bigger incision since once the fluid goes theres a risk of the placenta detaching so baby has to be out fast.

Im not gonna lie...Im freaking out a bit....or a lot.....but Im glad its going to be over soon!!! I go in at 1pm but because its an emergency spot I might not even be looked at until evening or possibly the next day. So it may take me a while to update. But I'll probably message Nel when I have a chance

Ive been told planned c-sections are much easier so Im crossing my fingers.

How sad that you knew something was off before and your Dr. wouldn't address it. Glad they are finally acting on it!

I am so unbelievably glad I threw fits and insisted something was wrong. The dr says with the rate that fluid is accumulating it would have turned ugly fast. As scared as I am Im also so relieved that tomorrow it will all be over!

Im so glad you got a date! Yay!

K, this might be a dumb question but couldnt they break your water before they do the section so your uterus isnt all strained? They baby is coming right out anyway right?

I havent actually been able to talk to the specialist yet since hes coming to town tomorrow... but heres how it was explained to me. Im still fumbling through them myself lol. The big risk to me and baby are actually when the water breaks. Which is why inducing is a no-no. Baby is really high up so cord prolapse is a big concern but also something about the big WHOOSH and her being very overdue they worry about the placenta detaching when my water goes. So the gameplan is to make a bigger cut in my abdomen, then when they open the uterus have one OB grab baby and run while the other makes sure Im not bleeding too much and stuff. So there will be two people in there just to make sure everything is okay. But yeah the water breaking is the scary part. After that we're pretty home free. I tell you.....Im so looking forward to being able to breathe again!

I'm so glad they are finally addressing you with concern and getting her out. I am sending tons and tons of good vibes!!! I am sure everything will go perfect and that the both of you will be fine. It sounds like they are going to being giving you lots of attention so you and baby will be very safe.

Hope it goes smoothly! I'm sure they are being cautious (and rightly so!) and everything will turn out just fine! My section was amazing, honestly it went so incredibly smooth compared to my vaginal birth. I hope it's the same for you!
