Hi, my name is Kim and here is our story.
I lost my 3 yr old son and 28 yr old aunt to a double fatality car wreck on dec 16 2008.
Weather was really bad that night. I was pregnant at the time and had a severe case of strep throat and a stomach virus. So, I went to the er and they gave me a huge dose of phenergen(can't spell it) and sent me home. My aunt, being the caring person she was, offered to take my son home with her cause the med made me so tired. So, my granny sent him with her. They left our house at about 530. The roads were so bad that it took her until 7:00 pm to reach the town where she lived which was normally a 40 minute drive. They wrecked at 10 minutes til 7 and the ambulance arrived the scene exactly five minutes til 7. They were both pronounced dead on the scene. My son died from blunt force trauma to the head and she died from internal injuries, i'm assuming because we were never told. I was not informed of the accident until 5 minutes prior to 11 pm. 2 officers knocked on the door and gave us the terrible news. My grandmother and I were about to watch the news before the officers showed up. We then continued to watch the news because it was the first thing to air at the 11 o'clock session. I went to the hospital and saw my son. He was on a hospital table/bed for the first time in his entire life. I felt so helpless because being his mother i wanted to take care of him and there was nothing that I could do. So, I just sat in that cold hospital room and held my baby for the last time ever. For some reason tonight, even though it has been a year and almost 2 months, I can't stop thinking about my precious boy. He was such a sweet child, I miss him with everything i have in me and i never stop thinking about him. If you would like to there is a youtube video made about him. Just search under Jakob Cupps on youtube.com Thank you for taking the time to read my story. I feel much better tonight writing about him and now maybe I can sleep a lil better.
Goodnight all, Kim
