Since most of you are second time moms- when was the earliest you heart the HB via doppler? I know it's too early, but just curious. I have a doppler I'm borrowing from a friend for my pregnancy, and I was wondering when it would be best to start trying to find the HB?
15 weeks 2 days I have the file saved on my computer. That was the first time I got a strong confirmed heartbeat on my own. Dopplers pick up every sound in your body from air to bowel sounds, so sometimes it is hard to decipher early on.
I used a doppler at home with Betsy and it was definitely early second trimester. I thought I had found it earlier but I was just listening to my own heartbeat. That thing was a life saver, especially during the late third trimester when I would try to to a kick count and the little girl refused to move (I should have realized she was fiercely independent even back then -- no one was going to tell her when to kick!).
I have the Sonoline B. The earliest was like 7 weeks, but only for a few seconds at a time. Consistently, I could find it at 8.5 weeks! It is very hard to find early on, but I know where to look and the sound is unmistakable once you have it. It sounds like a galloping horse, very quick. My heart rate always runs low, so I know it's the babies when it's 130-140-ish+. It becomes much easier, especially if it's your first and you're inexperienced in finding it, after 12 weeks.

I found Jessica's heartbeat with the babybeat at 8 weeks 4 days BUT her placenta was in the back, so they said it was no wonder I felt kicks early and heard the heartbeat early! I want to get one but I think I'll wait another month.
I use the sonoline b with my last 2 and heard my ds son at 8 weeks 4 days, could have heard it sooner but I was looking too low for him. With my dd it was about 7 1/2 weeks but it wasn't easy and only for a few seconds. I wont be trying that early this time... well I say that now lol. For sure will be looking at 8 weeks. I actually have a youtube video of the first time we heard our ds on the doppler at home.
