Does anyone have any pre-existing conditions that they are having to manage because of or in conjunction with this pregnancy?
I was diagnosed with a pituitary tumor (microadenoma hyperprolactinemia) in high school and by the time I was 22 it was gone. I took medication to shrink it and haven't had an issue with it since. During my first two pregnancies my OB did not make me get MRIs to track it or send me to a specialist. I successfully breastfed my second son for over a year. My periods have always returned postpartum and all has been well. My new OB wants me to see a neuro-ophthalmologist every trimester of this pregnancy to track my visual fields (which can be one of the earliest indicators that the tumor is growing)...if something changes during pregnancy then she would want me to get an MRI and if the tumor is growing again I am guessing she would want me to have it surgically removed as it can cause miscarriage/stillbirth. I was not expecting this at all...since I have had two pregnancies where this was never brought us as an issue. I'm not too concerned since it hasn't been an issue for so long but it's just something else to have on mind.
The only thing I have is Generalized Anxiety Disorder, My doctor kept trying to push meds on me because at one point for months I had really bad heart palps, but I have managed without meds and this pregnancy has actually made things almost 100% better! My heart issues are much better and I haven't been as anxious. I have had a couple of panic attacks but they are few and far between now! I am worried about how PPD will affect me though. But I will cross that bridge when I get there.
Missing my sweet little boy, RIP Baby Sullivan Parker
I have lupus, but thankfully it is very minor at this point, and if it wasn't already, pregnancy has always sent it into remission for me. I don't have any more monitoring that normal, but I guess that would change should I start to notice symptoms indicating it flaring up while pregnant.

I have Spina Bifida, so I am on a higher dose of folic acid, as well as a prescription prenatal vitamin, but that's about it. I go see my urologist a little more often during pregnancy (need to schedule soon actually), and my OB monitors things, but I'm high-risk more because of my pregnancy history, not my SB.
Annalise is hoping to be a big sister on June 28, 2014. Forever missing her big brother, Matthew, stillborn on July 1, 2010.
I am sorry you are going through this. I only have asthma and arrhythmia. My last attack with Arrhythmia was on the operating table when they put the port for my chemo into the vein around my heart but I always have them in pregnancy and my asthma if not controlled well will trigger an episode too.
