I know some people go on progesterone injections and various other things to maintain pregnancies. I'm being tested for antiphospholipid syndrome and if it's positive I'll have to go on heparin injections. So not looking forward to that idea How do you handle the thought of giving yourself shots every day?

During my IVF cycles I had lots of injections, and since my husband travels for work there were many times I had to give myself the injections, and it wasn’t as bad I anticipated. Hoping you’ll be negative and no need for the injections…keep us updated!

I am also supposed to have my blood check for anti phospholipids. I was tested in Nov 2012 and it was negative. I am praying that yours (and mine) are negative and no one has to worry about giving themselves injections! My Dr said something about heparin too depending on tests. I have had lovenox shots in my stomach before (in 2006) but I was hospitalized and they gave them to me.

I am on oral progesterone and awaiting results of the anti phospholipids. I had no idea the solution is injections! I currently have to give myself injections because I have a naturally low b12 vitamin level, but the needles are tiny and I just do it in the fatty party of my stomach.

Are the injections with the little insulin needles?

I haven't been brave enough to read about them much, other than seeing people say it burns! I'm nervous because I had placenta problems in my last 2 pregnancies so this could be a real problem.

Well, you do what you gotta do mama! I will tell you that after awhile it wasn't such a big deal (the b12). Your DH can give them to you too.

Yes, I'm on Heparin, have been since 2dpo. It's not hard for me. I know some people have a sincere fear of needles. I don't love it, but I deal with it. After 3 early losses, I was happy to have found a solution and happy to take the shots.

With my son (almost 3 years old), i would sing "'tis so sweet to trust in Jesus" as I did my injections. Now I feel like an old pro. I just count to three and poke it in.

I have protein S deficiency.

I went this morning and had the labs drawn, I have really tiny uncooperative veins so after not getting the elbow to work the tech finally stabbed me in the back of the hand. I hate getting blood drawn! I'm really hoping the tests come back negative but if they're positive I'll just suck it up and do what needs to be done. Glad/sad to see I'm not alone here.
