Christmas tree that is! Which do you use?

I've always had fake trees because my cats climb real ones. Last year I scored a super nice tree that was normally $400 for $50! So yay

I love the experience of cutting our own, but for some reason this year ours is dropping needles like mad and we just got it yesterday. I do think that the nicer fake ones look really realistic and beautiful though.

Fake all the way. I'm a city girl, I can't stand dealing with needles and sap and trays of water.

Besides, I have four cats and they would destroy a real tree MUCH more vigorously than they are destroying the fake tree.

We have a vintage 1950s aluminum tree that ROCKS! I'll insist upon getting a real one occasionally but this one suits me just fine.

Fake. We lived in a high rise for four years so we had to buy a fake. I was too cheap to replace it with a real one.

I love love love real trees, but we've used a fake since moving into our house. My husband isn't the "I'll chop it up and toss it as soon as it's drying" type so it's easier to be able to box it. Also, my grandma gave me her old one for free which is in great condition and prelit colored so we've used that.

I've always had a fake. One year whole living with a roommate we got a real one and I was so excited but soon learned what a pita they are. And learned that the cat likes to pee on it. So back to fake but we just got a nice new one on sale for Black Friday and I'm really impressed by it. Plus I like the pre lighted ones and can't get that with a fake.

I'm starting to worry that my fake tree won't last until Christmas. I keep finding this thing in it:
momRT, l8nbaby, mrsdaiwa24 and 6 others like this.

oh my gosh too cute!!

Erin, I would love too see your awesome tree!!

We usually get real trees. We will be getting ours this coming Saturday. I would love a fake one but the ones that I want are usually way out of my price range. May try to catch an after Christmas sale on a tree this year, I love the big ones that look real!

We go to a local Tree farm or up in the mountains and cut one down. Trees are really cheap for us because it's local we also supply most of the Christmas trees for the us

Fake. It takes so much work to decorate it that I like to enjoy it as long as possible. We put it up last night and it will stay up until New Year's.

Fake for now - our first few years living together we lived in an apartment building and weren't allowed real ones due to Fire Codes, then when we moved into our house we got a hand-me-down tree from my nanny that worked for the year, but needed to be replaced the following year (she said so as well), the next year we got a puppy and it seemed like a fake tree was just easier while he was being trained.

I think we will use the fake tree again next year, but once this little one is old enough to kind of know what's happening I would like to go out and cut down a real tree, make a tradition out of it.

Fake. We always had real growing up and this is the first year I've had a fake but I already prefer it over the real thing in most aspects. I don't have to worry about the cats, DS, it it not driving my allergies up the wall, but I do miss the pine-y smell. I think I'll grab another small lemon cypress to have in the entry way because I love the smell of those even more.

Last year I had purchased one as part of the decorations for the front porch but some (insert your own insult here) decided to steal it.

Give me a fake one. I hate dealing with the stuff that comes with real trees. And the clean up, uuuuugh it's the worst.

Fake. I had a real one once and I couldn't stand the needles and the smell.

Unfortunately, the tree I had got water damage at our old place, and we don't really have the fundage to replace it. We're going to try but we may have to do a small tree this year and then spring for a big one next year. If they boys were at their dads for Christmas Eve, I would just wait to get one but we have them this year and it's just not Christmas Eve/Morning without a tree.
