So...I have had no unusual symptoms at all this pregnancy so far...unless the absence of the usual symptoms is unusual!

But - today at work I just went to the ladies room for a routine pee, but when I wiped afterwards there was a pea-sized lump of firm, clear, odourless jelly-like substance. It could be stretched, but would retract once I stopped manipluating it.

DH and I were intimate last night right before bed, and I have no cramping or anything else alarming - I've just *never* seen/had that before, ever.

I have my midwife appointment today at 6:30pm so I can ask her there - but I just wanted to ask if anyone else here has experienced this, in hopes that some have and it's totally normal so I can relax and not be in a panic until 6:30 tonight (it's 1pm here now).

Sorry about the TMI - I am just puzzled and not sure whether I should be concerned that maybe I just lost my mucous plug early or something

I've had it quite a few times. Sometimes it's yellowish or white. I've read it's normal. Overall, I've had a lot of discharge since becoming pregnant.

I've had tons of discharge. It's probably just your body's natural protection against his sperm at this point. I don't think need to worry.

I guess that's where I am concerned - I had a slightly higher level of...er...wetness on and off for pretty much the duration of my pregnancy so far, but nothing like this little firm jelly ball. I tried to read up on what it might be but it's hard to tell if someone is talking about the same thing or not.

I haven't had the exact same thing, but have noticed a HUGE increase in CM the past week or so. I was actually worried too, and thinking of calling the doctor, but figured it must be normal.

Totally normal! Its just discharge, it can be tinged light yellow, white or clear, as long as it doesnt smell bad- its fine. I ve had tons this time around, and it surprised me at first also. Oh and it should be odorless or have a slight smell to it, but it shouldnt smell like foul... like infection- type.

Ew - happily I am odour free! So I guess I'll relax and just mention it to my midwife tonight for the "professional" reassurance. Pretty friggin weird though!

Strange discharge is the norm, especially after DTD. If it were your plug it would be bigger than a pea and even if it were its not necessarily something to freak out about. Your plug regenerates. Its when you see lots and streaks of blood that its a concern (or a reason to celebrate when we're further down the road here).

Honey, I just have to chime in and say that there is no such thing as TMI when you're pregnant and talking to a bunch of other pregnant women!

I am curious to know what the mw said. For some reason when you described it I pictured that sticky substance they use to make a credit card mailed stick to the letter lol.

Midwife appointment went well - I'll post specifically about that later - but she reassured me that it's normal so long as there is no unpleasant smell and/or no blood with it. She said that your cervix is continually building it up so things like intercourse, etc. often dislodges little bits from the edge. We were intimate the evening before so it all makes sense

lol, it wasn't quite that solid, more like a clear bit of (sorry!) jello - only stretchier. Oh the fabulous things our bodies create while baking a bun in the oven!
