It went well! She was really funny because she finally came out and asked us if gingers tend to date eachother or whether we were an exception to the rule, lol! I told her that I never used to date my own kind b/c it felt a little too close to dating a relative (Esp. because my two older brothers were also gingers with my colouring...only slightly less blond and a little more strawberry).

But DH is on the other end of the Ginger Spectrum - I am strawberry blond with blue eyes and DH is dark auburn/brown with brown-green eyes - so I felt there was enough difference in the equation to make it ok

Anyhow - he got to hear the heartbeart although I got a little nervous because it took her a while to find it this time...probably because she had to get through my lunch-baby padding first But she did find it and it was pumping away at 140 hb/s - my little Gingerbean seems to have had a lower heartbeat all along, so not sure if that means anything gender wise - but it's never been over 150.

I need to schedule my 20 week scan now but I can do it anytime after 18 weeks so January 5th will be the earliest I can get in...which isn't so far off, esp. with the craziness of Christmas and the New Year between now and then

So just stay tuned I guess!

Hooray! Did you happen to ask about the discharge? Just curious since it seems many of us have had it.

Yes, although I waited until DH went to warm up the car to ask

She reassured me that it's normal so long as there is no unpleasant smell and/or no blood with it. She said that your cervix is continually building it up so things like intercourse, etc. often dislodges little bits from the edge. We were intimate the evening before (after not being so for almost 2 weeks) so it all makes sense now

So glad you had a great appt! It's great when they get into more of knowing you personally vs keeping it on a professional level. Makes for much better care, IMO. LOL about the ginger thing. We have some red-heads in my family, too! My aunt and cousin on my dad's side are strawberry blondes and I've always dreamed of having a strawberry blonde baby. My dad, me, and three of my kids are blondies. Bailey has a slight strawberry tint to her hair in the sun, but I imagine as it grows it will just be blonde like mine. Maybe this baby will be the ginger! Oh, and a blue-eyed baby like me. I have two green eyes, one hazel (almost amber) and one brown....where's my blue-eyed baby?

Your 20wk scan isn't far off at all! Mine won't be scheduled to late Jan/early Feb, and I'm too impatient, so I scheduled an elective scan at the end of this month. Can't wait to hear what you're having!
