I have been growing my hair out for 2yrs. just to see how it would look since I have had it short since high school. Well I see my stylist today, and don't know what I want to do. My hair is very straight and fine. It hits my bra strap right now. I don't think I have the courage to go back to a pixie cut again, but I don't know how short to go. Above or below the shoulders, layers or blunt, normal or asymmetrical? I'm so confused. HELP!

I am no good!! I've been wondering the same thing myself lately. It's so hard! Maybe ask your hairstylist for help? That's what I usually do. I ask her what would be good with my hair and how it's holding up to see if I should take more or less off.

Tough call. I always tell my stylists to cut what they think will look best because they are the ones who know what looks great on faces shaped like mine.

I worked for over 2 years to grow mine out. Then I decided it was annoying and totally chopped it. I cried over it being so short. So, I'm the wrong person to ask because clearly I don't know what I like!

i was in your boat. grew my mane out for three years and although i loved the length, i started getting bored. like i needed something new. so i had 9in hacked off one day. that took it to shoulder length. i loved my new cut ... for about a week. now i regret it and miss my long hair lol.

remember the shorter the hair, the higher the maintenance is.

Thanks for the input. I ended up pinning several different styles, and telling he to have fun. As long as I could still get it into a ponytail. I chickened out of really short, maybe in the summer. It is now just a bit passed my shoulders with layers.
