Saturday I went to the mall by myself to get a couple things before my maternity photo shoot.
I went to the one by our new house, and I don't know this mall at all. I ended up accidentally parking on the wrong side and had to walk across the whole place to get to the stores I needed.
Wellll...This started a series of contractions. They weren't necessarily painful, just annoying and surprising. Then, I was trying on some clothes, sweating to death because of hormones? or maybe because the mall felt like it was 200 degrees inside, lol, but then the contractions kept coming. They got so bad that I had to keep sitting down to take breaks. What should have been a 30 minute trip ended up being 1.5-2 hours.

Afterwards I went straight home, drank some water, and laid on my side. I ended up having a few more during the following couple hours, and then they went away.

However, I'm noticing now that any time I climb stairs, take a short walk, or "strain" myself in anyway, I start having contractions.

Can this be normal? Is it normal, maybe for a 2nd pregnancy? I haven't called my midwife yet, mainly because they stopped eventually, and I wasn't in pain necessarily. Should I call? My DP keeps saying they'll probably put me on bedrest, but I think he's just overreacting.

I would call, even if just to ease your mind!

I would probably call. Better to be safe than sorry. I felt silly for going into L&D last week, but am so happy I did end up going. And everyone was so nice and didn't make me feel bad at all. My contractions also make me break out in a sweat.

I would give them a call - if nothing else to ease your mind as stress isn't great for the little one.

Personally if I overdo it I feel a bit tighter off and on...but more like him rolling around then a contraction. I would imagine that since it is your second it is possible that you could be feeling things more intense.

That describes my "normal". I have lots of BH and lots more when I hardly exert myself or if I'm the least bit hot or dehydrated. If it's a change for you, I'd call.

I agree with the other ladies above...in my mind, it's always better to be safe, and therefore overly cautious, than sorry!

They might put you on bedrest...but more likely they'll tell you to just take it easy and not over-exert yourself. Put your feet up and let DP take care of things whenever possible

I'd call just to be safe. I thought mine were BH contractions only to discover that they were the real thing. Hope you feel better soon!
