I didn't post while I was in the hospital.. so I figured I'd tell the story today now that we've been home for a couple of days....
We had THOUGHT I had 25 hours left last time I was on the board.. apparently I was wrong. About 2:00 Wednesday morning I started having regular and intense contractions. By 2:30 I'd had 10 contractions, so between contractions I was gathering chargers and the last few odds and ends for the hospital. Mom was called. She and my Dad drove down to the hospital. Jarred tucked in the hedgehogs and we headed to the hospital about 330 AM. I was admitted at 3:51 and my Doctor was paged.
Mom and Jarred both held my hands and coached me through the contractions. My water never broke, I never lost my plug.. just had the contractions. The nurses hooked me up to the monitors, got my IV started, and my OB showed up about 4:25. In the middle of asking me some questions he decided it was time to scrub in. I couldn't talk through my contractions. The Last picture of me pregnant.....
At 5:35 my spinal block had been put in place. At 5:40 Mom and Jarred were both being led into the OR. At 5:49 Lillian Jean "Poppet" made her grand appearance. Head and shoulders first, once her arm was free she gave us a beauty queen wave as if to announce, "LJ has arrived in the building!"
Jarred holds his daughter for the first time: (My blood pressure dropped dangerously low so I didn't get my immediate skin to skin contact, so he was the first to hold her.)
She came into the world as the Diva she started out as in the womb.. and doesn't appear to be changing her mind about her Fabulousness any time soon. She weighed 6 pounds 0.1 ounces, and 18 inches long. She's a tiny slice of pure perfection.
After my blood pressure stabilized, she was nursing like a pro.. at an hour and 15 minutes.
Proud Grandparents. My Mom and Dad with Poppet..
And The other Proud Grandparents, Jarred's Mom and Dad with LJ....
Poppet came home and was welcomed in spirit by my Great Grandmother Siska:
