My DH just accepted a new position elsewhere (still the same state, but 3 1/2 hours away) so we are moving in the next month (eeeek). We have a lapse before his current job ends, and he starts the new. So, we'd like to take a trip. We had wanted to do this before baby comes, anyway, so now we have the perfect chance. We want to stay in the US. We just have to decide where.

What has been one of your favorite vacation spots?

Vegas, Miami (this is prolly a real good time 2 go there), Cali, Phoenix (really nice spas), NY (lots of sight seeing, good eats & shopping), New Orleans (phenomenal food, history & hospitality), DC (rich history, sight-seeing, decent food, nation's capital, blah bla blah), Williamsburg Va (now U can actually hit this with the DC trip if U want, as it's only 3 hrs away...rich history, lots of sight-seeing & things to do)...many more.

I'd say Miami & New Orleans are my favs in the US.

Montana was one of my favorite vacation spots in the US. Especially if you're active, hiking in yellowstone is phenomenal. Chicago is probably my favorite city, went there twice this summer and loved it both times!

If you are looking for something low key and really romantic, the Smokies in TN is awesome this time of year!! We rented a really nice scenic cabin!

I think we actually changed the destination lol. DH told me USA, because of the flight times and time changes. But, we decided some of the Islands down south actually have decent timed flights, not expensive, and most in the same time zone. So trying to decide on something down there..

Disneyworld is my favorite place...but you can't ride all the rides! I went to Vegas last summer with DH and that was cool. I'm supposed to go to Hawaii in July, but am now rethinking that because of Baby Storm...but that's where I'd go if I had no kids!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Enjoy it!!!

I always loved Puerto Rico -- the mix of history and beaches is amazing.

D.C. (well, when most of it isn't being affected by the gov't shutdown) is incredible and most of the tourist sites are free.

Vegas is fun, even if you can't drink. Pools, shopping, and sight seeing, plus awesome buffets and shows.

Wherever you go, you'll have fun!
