I just went to the bathroom and found bright red blood, a good amount. I'm not cramping or anything. It's 8:30 at night, and I don't feel the urge to rush to the emergency room. But, at what point do I call the doctor? If I'm still bleeding in the morning? If I start having pain or cramping? Or should I call in the morning regardless?

Go to the hospital NOW, bright red blood is one of the danger signs to watch out for even with no pain or discomfort, hopefully could just be a threatened miscarriage in which case the doctor will order bed-rest but it really is better to be safe than sorry.

I had bleeding with my 3rd pregancy and i waited until the morning - well when i woke the pain was so bad i could hardly walk to the car. Do not wait. Yes there is nothing that can be done to stop a mc but there are lots of lovely drugs in hospitals to ease the pain caused by one.

I was going to suggest waiting, but what do I know? haha
I figure eve if something is going to go wrong in any pregnancy, there isn't much that can be done to stop that. So I don't really see a need to rush to the ER or hospital at like 2am. But maybe I'm in the wrong? I would have waited and called my Dr as soon as they opened in the morning, though. Even if it's stopped, maybe they'd see ya for peace of mind. Hopefully all is OK!

Did the bleeding stop last night? I'd call the Dr. this morning if you haven't yet, even if the bleeding stopped. If it's still really early in the pregnancy I think Ally is right, there's nothing they can do to prevent a miscarriage if that's what's happening but peace of mind is always a good thing!

I spotted twice in my first trimester with my daughter, it was bright pink, it stopped immediately both times and baby was fine.

If you're not in pain, especially since you say there's no cramping, I would wait until morning. They'll want to see you today, most likely, but there's no need to spend hours in the ER if you can wait until morning with no pain. *hugs* I hope it turns out to be nothing. Please update us when you can!

Call your dr regardless. Has the bleeeding stopped? My dr would tell me to go into the ER, honestly. I know they cant stop a miscarriage, but it would be in your best interest to make an apt with your dr for today, if they cant get you in, they will tell you to go to the ER, based on the symptoms you are experiencing.

I hope everything is okay now! Lots of prayers for you baby *hugs*

Hi all, thanks for your advice. I just got up, and I'm still bleeding. I had no pads, so I put in a tampon last night. It was soaked this morning. My husband and I prayed last night to know what to do, and I felt a calm assurance that I didn't need to go to the ER. But, I am going to the same day clinic this morning after I drop off the kids at school. So I will be leaving to head that direction in about 45 minutes.

I will keep you all updated, please keep me in your prayers.
