I have a friend who sent me a free Kissaluv and Bumkin (I believe) cover. I'm confused on the kissaluv. It has these snaps all across the tops. It's blue on one side and white on the other. I tried putting it on with the tag on the inside but it just didn't look or fit right so I turned it around with the blue on the outside. And that works but I'm wondering if that is the way it's supposed to go. Also, I tried it last night and it was fine and very absorbant but when Daddy changed it this morning he said it had a really heavy pee odor. Is that normal? Is there anything I can do to prevent that?? Sorry I'm just switching to cloth and I'm very very confused!

On the kissaluvs the tag goes to the outside , so it doesn't rub on baby
Overnight you may need a doubler but diapers are going to smell like pee when they are peed on
How are you washing them though? Perhaps its stronger than you were expecting because of the way you washed it?

usually there is only concern if it smells like pee after it is freshly washed..but like kama said, peed on cloth will smell like pee ya know. sometimes our pee smells stronger than other times we pee. same with babies.

and the snaps are so that it can grow with baby. and if i remember correctly, it even should have an overlapping snap in case baby is really skinny.

Isaiahs pee 1st thing in the morning is very strong smelling. I would suggest a doubler.

The pee smell is going to be strong, because baby is going, 6-8? hours w/o a change. Just like our pee is darker in the morning, there is more pee in the diaper over night.

Well I used Dreft, which I just found out isn't the best detergent to use. I did wash it on hot.

I guess I was just taken aback because I've been using Huggies since she was born almost 8 months ago. I do like the cloth though but right now she's back in huggies only because the only cloth diaper I have is dirty and I need to get some pins for the gerber ones I just got
