I am kinda psycho (I think *most* of you already know that) and I get in my head to do weird things. Like this week...I decided I would use every single diaper in my stash and not repeat...just to see how long I can go without "washing" (I will wash, but keep them in a basket instead of replacing in the cabinet). Anyone do this? Anyone want to join me?
I'll keep ya posted on how long I make it. My guess is that I can make it about 4 days...which ain't bad for having two in diapers

Ooh, this seems fun!
My diapers are almost done in the wash too, so perfect timing!
I've got two in diapers also.

This is how we always go through our stash. It takes us about 3 days to go through everything. Our routine/rotation works like this...We wash every other day, so about 20 diapers in the wash and about 10 clean left over from the previous wash. We use those 10 diapers before we even start to pull from the newly cleaned group. This forces us to use all our diapers evenly and it works out great for washing every other day.

I had to do this when we went without power for a week... I ended up going 6 days before having to break out the GroVia disposable inserts. I did have to use prefolds that were way too big for her at the time and I think I even used a Gerber prefold or two.

I do this once or twice a week I usually wash when I have him in a diaper and have one clean one left (in case he wakes up and needs a change). I have exactly enough to get me through 4 days that way.

I do this too. I don't always get thru ALL the diapers, maybe have 3 left before I pull from the clean pile.

Wow...I had no idea people did this all the time But it does make sense in terms of 'wear' on the dipes. I am glad people are joining me! This will be FUN!
Our update: We are 1 full day in and somehow, the boys were super-nice to me today. We did normal changes and noone pooed in a newly put-on dipe So I might actually get more than 4 days out of this trial! I think we used 11 diapers...but that seems a little low. I might haveta do an "all in" count at the end.

I can't do this right now due to our washing situation, but I know we can go 5 days. After that I'm out of night options. We've gone 5 days before when on vacation. I know I can go longer if it wasn't for night time because we have a lot more flats right now than we did then.

We are rotaters also clean ones always go on the bottom of the pile. Stuff on top gets grabbed first. Although we do have 3 different ministashes that get used more or less often depending on needs... convenience AIOs, fitteds, flats, plus nighttime stash. But they all get used. Except the toddler prefolds which are too big and currently used as potty pads, milk leakage catchers on top of the bed at night, changing pad covers, etc and very occasionally as nighttime backups with a doubler. Even those get rotated too though.
I think if I ran through everything I have out right now, I could go maybe 4 days?? Depending on how pottying was going.... this morning it wasn't so good and we had 3 dirty diapers in under an hour...

Yeah when I stuff my pockets and put em away I put the clean ones on the bottom of the pile. INserts and prefolds too...all go on the bottom.

I have just enough until wash day so technically, we do this
I could go longer in just prefolds but would need to wash covers.

Update!!
We are doing way better than expected Today is day six. Now I don't know if we can do a nighttime diaper for both boys tonight...but we can absolutely make it through the day. So, not quite six full days is pretty good. So far (up til this morning) I have used 60 diapers and pretty much all of my doublers. So that might get tricky later too. I have flips, best bottoms, a couple TKCs (for Kieran), and a Swaddlebees pocket left. I am gonna try to make it until morning for a full 6 days. And that does exclude 4 diapers that are not at the house (one is loaned to a friend and three are not shipped yet). I am thinking I might get my fitteds today...so that will give me extra too!

I'm thinking I might try this after my next wash. I've been getting lazy lately and just reaching for pockets. I need to give the PFs and fitteds some love again!
Several months ago, we took a roadtrip and I had enough diapers for our 4 day trip and still came home with at least another day's worth clean.
