How do you care for wool (i.e. washing, drying, etc.)? I've been thinking of buying a couple wool soakers for my son to wear over his nighttime diapers because he is SUCH a heavy wetter. Lately he's been waking up soaked through his diaper EVERY morning, even though his nighttime diaper is a BG4.0 doubled with the extra insert! That's usually the only type of diaper that keeps him dry all night, but the past week or so it isn't working. I figured wool would help soak up any extra wetness, but I've never used it so I have no idea how to care for it. I've heard it can be reused a few times, but not really sure what else. Any advice would be appreciated, thank you!

Two links that really helped me were Green Mountain Diapers and Washing Wool Diaper Covers. I take a plastic bin and fill it with lukewarm water and add a tiny bit of baby shampoo and then I melt a bit of Lansinoh lanolin in a baby food jar and add it to the wash. I just bought lanolin spray so I lanolize the wool between washings. Usually you only need to wash wool like twice a month unless it gets pooped on.

Heres what I do, I put like 1tsp of lasinoh lanolin (what you get for breastfeeding) and like 2 squirts of his baby shampoo and put it in a cup. I use my keuring and just make a cup of hot water and brew it into the cup with the shampoo and lanolin. Then I put that in the sink and fill it up so the water is tepid. I then put the wool in and let it soak for like 15-20 minutes. I take it up and lay it on a towel and then roll the towel up to get the excess water out. It should feel tacky. Then I just lay it flat to dry.

Thank you all! That definitely sounds very easy- I'm going to have to order a couple soakers now.
