We've been home from the hospital 5 days now and I just wanted to thank everyone for the nb cd tips. The green mountain prefolds and bummis covers work great (I think I've even mastered the jelly roll) I also have grovia nb ( which have been ok) fb xsm ( she's too little for these I think, a couple more pounds and they'll be great) little joeys which I think are god so far, and some woollies. I really didn't think I'd like the Pf but they are working so well, clean easily, and I use them for everything. They do make great burp cloths.

One question I have has to do with laundry. Do you use vinegar? If you do, how much?

I feel like my cd smelled like vinegar after washing, so I re-washed.

I have a fri nt loader. I do a cold soak, hot wash and cold rinse. I use 2 tbsp of a detergent I made from oxiclean, washing soda, and borax. It's very low siding. Maybe I should use more. I had been putting in vinegar too.. But maybe I should stop. Any thoughts?

When I use vinegar in my wash, I just fill up the fabric softener drawer for the main wash. You want your extra rinse to be after the vinegar rinse to get the residues out. Hth!

Congrats on your new baby and I am so happy that you are loving your prefolds!!!

The only time I had issues with diaper stink was when I used vinegar. I'll never use it again.

I'm not going to use it next time and see what happens. I guess this is where the trouble shooting part of cding comes into play. I feel like a scientist running an experiment
