Some of my CDs leave red marks, esp. around Katherine's legs. Is this normal? They go away if I give naked time. Am I putting on the diaper too tight? If so, how do I know it's a good fit?

depends on how red... we always get pinkish marks.. but if they are bright red or raised it could be a latex allergy.

Chubby LOs tend to get red marks. If you look at her neck, back or anywhere where a seam presses on her while napping or being held, she may have similar marks. These types of minor dent type marks are no big deal, but it is nice to switch cover styles or do wool or naked time to help them fade. More for your comfort than hers

M has gotten more rashy red marks from certain covers before. They get rough and eventually peel and seem uncomfortable and itchy. Lanolin is great to heal them. The Grovia covers were always the worst for that. Flips can give her mild marks too. It is one reason I like to have a varied stash and sometimes just do a snappied flat or prefold with longies or a soaker, to give her chunky thighs a break.

DD is chunky too.. she was 9.1 when born (ouchies). It doesn't seem to bother her, but I wanted to make sure I wasn't doing anything wrong. This is my first time cding and I don't want to hurt the poor thing!

Agreed. Usually pink marks are nothing to worry about. They are just from pressure, and some people are more susceptible to them than others. I get them really easily, from my socks especially, but I'm never in pain or bothered. Like you said, after a while they go away.

I would be more concerned if they were really red, or raised, or after a while started to become blistery. Then it could be an allergy. I get that from adhesives, even the sticky stuff they put in some thigh highs or bras to keep them in place. If I wear bandaids for too long I will get a raised mark that hurts/itches, and will get crusty and eventually turns to a blister, like when I had surgery and had to use a bandaid over my incision for a week or two. It ended up leaving a scar in the shape of a bandaid. lol Or on my wedding day, I wore a pair of those sticky thigh highs for the first time (had surgery 11 days before and didn't want to wear pantyhose) and when I got home that night I had deep blisters all around my legs. Not fun.

Just keep an eye out for that. I'm sure she's okay though.

just agreeing with everyone else Emmy sometimes gets the pink marks on her legs - not as much now that she's trimming down... It's more if they seem to be getting bumpy or blistery - and are RED that you need to worry
