What would be your limit for the number of children in cloth at one time, before you began considering using disposables... do/would you have a limit?

More than one newborn at a time, or more than 2 total, and I would do a diaper service!
I think due to a larger scale, it would make even more sense to stick with cloth. Especially thinking of smells and garbage. But I would not want to deal with the laundry. My local diaper service does prefolds only, but I could easily do prefolds for all the babies, snappi them on the little ones and trifold in snug covers for the big ones.

Honestly, I think the more kids I had in diapers, the more likely I'd be to use cloth. I do it to save money, so that's just that much more savings! Of course, this is assuming "normal" numbers of kids. If I had quintuplets or something, game over!

I can't imagine doing cloth for some and sposies for others. I'd do cloth for all my kids who needed it, however am not sure I'll have more than 1 kid...

no more than two because we are having no more kids and once these two are done with diapers there will never be another baby of ours in diapers, lol.

I think I could do up to four. Or maybe three. Really, it's just the poo spraying that gets me. So if DH or someone took over that one aspect, I would be fine. Liam just poops so many times a day, I get fed up with the pile to spray. Any more than two newborns might force me over the edge. The toddlers would be he ones in sposies though.

The more kids, the more I'd want to do all cloth to save $$. But there WOULD be an investment in a 2nd washing machine!!

After 2 I'd be looking into a diaper service. But I'd stick with cloth.

Honestly.. No idea. My lo is currently cloth diapered FT and we have baby #3 due in December.. I think I would still cloth diaper if i had 3 kids in diapers. I'll never know though since we are done having kiddos after the next baby arrives lol

2, I think. Though I can't imagine, like Lindsey said, having some in cloth and some in disposables. One of the big reasons I forced, er encouraged, Sarah to switch too is because I didn't want disposables in the house. I knew if I had them, I'd get lazy and use them with Keelan.
I'm done with babies anyway and Sarah has the 10 yr iud!

We cloth diaper primarily to save money, so the more I had in diapers, the more cloth I would use. I would only want to wash once a day, though, so if we needed more diapers than would fit in the machine, we'd probably use a few disposables for overnight and going out. Also I'd have to factor in the cost of a stash since we really only like pockets. I'd probably get Sunbabys or Alvas then.

Honestly at this point I can't imagine going back to sposies no matter how many kids I had..I'll have 2 in diapers come sept and honestly I'd rather they both be in cloth and save some money.

I'm with Anne on the second washer, but other than that, I can't see a rational limit. For me, cloth is way easier than disposables. I'd probably do prefolds and AIOs, though, to avoid having to stuff pockets. Maybe even some AI2s.

I have 2 1/2 in cloth right now, and I think that's definitely my limit. But not just my limit in cloth, my limit in diapers on general! I would much rather have this many in cloth than this many in sposies. We'd be broke and our house would smell awful!

I LOATHE disposables, so it wouldn't matter how many I had in diapers - they'd all be in cloth. I, too, have 2.5 kids in diapers at the moment.

No limit here. I've had 3 in cloth all at the same time. They were all at different stages so spraying and cleaning was easier with the different kids.
