Hi again ladies..I decided to do a little update about my sudden interest in flats..Well I got them through a wash and decided not to wait for a second and third wash to try them out on my daughter..They are a bit large on her but that can be remedied by folding in 2 of the sides to make a smaller square before folding it..I used the oragami fold and so far I love it..it took me some doing to figure out how to fasten it because the wings are a lot longer than Im used to..actually I sort of criss cross them in front of her and that adds another layer of absorbency..So far so good..less bulky than a prefold for sure and just as absorbent from what I can tell..I folding up a bunch of these ahead of time and put them in my diaper bag to see how they would do in the diaper bag..and they take up way less space than my prefolds do as well..I don't think I'd use them for night time because i do have other options but for day time I think I'll really like them..

As a fellow flat lover, welcome to the club!!! my love for flats only increases with time. So versatile, so easy to wash, and in my opinion nothing is nicer than a perfect fitting mama folded flat! Although these days I mainly padfold, which is fantastic when their poops firm up and get less frequent.

Have you ever tried the kite fold? or the origami fold? They are good for smaller babies too... Love flats!! Thats all I used in the end with DS (around 2-2.5yrs old before he PTed)

Right now we're just using the oragami fold..I fount it a bit trimmer on her and since she's narrow between the legs I can add and extra fold there..LOL..I also really like that when she wets..most of her pee stays in the pad part and doesnt spread around her legs like it does in her prefolds..I think the flats are my new go to daytime diaper..my prefolds will be the out and abouts and the pockets..perfect for night time..so glad I decided to branch out and try different things because at one point I was hellbent on pockets only..or all in ones..LOL..then I got the prefolds to make my stash larger..then I just had to try flats when I discovered you could use flour sack towels that I could get at walmart..who knew right..LOL..I did also see that you can tye dey flats..I might pick up another 10 to do that because now that mine have been washed I don't think it'd work..LOL

I love using flats and they were our go to diaper this past winter when using a borrowed washer (SO easy to wash no matter the washer, water type, etc!). I love that I can fit more flats in my purse than any other diaper, so it's a favorite when out and about for a day. I, too, use the origami fold mostly and prefold them all. I can't pin to save my life though, so I do use a snappi. Glad you found the flat love. They're even great pad folding for pockets.

Hey, I did a full 7 days of handwashing (challenge last May) with flats and it was the easiest thing ever!

I do have to admit..I was very skeptic about everything I had read about using flour sack towels as diapers..I was very worried that they would not absorb anything because they are really really thin..I was pleasantly surprised..they held up to my super soaker..LOL..I don't think i'd trust them over night but I suppose thats why I have my other diapers..LOL..

I went through a huge thing with flats awhile back...

as for using them at night. You would be surpried. I padfold two flats, put them in a wrap & in the morning Emersyn wakes up without any leaks. Those things are AMAZING, considering how thin they are etc. Actually, to mix things up tonight I might do this
