The dryer:
In low heat every time or will that still break them down faster?

Bounce dryer bar: yay or nay?

In washer:
Every few times I wash my towels and stuff I throw them in before I turn on the water sprinkle a lot of baking soda all over them, then pour white vinegar over them. Ill run the washer once with just that and water, then I'll drain the water and add soap and wash again.
Ive actually done this to my diapers twice before it occurred to me there might be some reason not to do this?

Laundry soap: we use tide. The liquid kind. I've seen it mixed reviews on doing so, what are your thoughts?

Lastly, because I don't have that many yet, I've been washing my diapers with my baby clothes, kitchen rags, etc. Is there a particular reason I should wash my diapers just with themselves?

Thanks ladies!

I have always used medium to high heat in the dryer. On very thick or absorbent stuff, you need some real heat to get them completely dry, unless you live in the desert or something.

NAY on Bounce dryer bar, especially if you have synthetics/pockets, it can cause repelling. My family would break out from it too. It might work for you but is generally advised against.

If the vinegar + baking soda treatment works for you, by all means do it to your diapers! It sounds great!

If Tide works for you, keep using it!

The only reason to wash diapers by themselves is if they aren't getting fully clean and you don't want them contaminating your other towels etc. But it sounds like you are washing them well, and so there's no problem.

Hth!!!

Ditto to what Shen said.

Thicker stuff will never dry properly on low, and you could start to get stink issues b/c of that. I would stick to at the very minimum medium, but most people dry everything (except PUL covers and pockets) on high.

No bounce dryer bar

Baking soda will not harm your diapers. Some people say that vinegar causes stink, but if it works for you then no harm done.

If Tide works for you, go for it!

I would wash them separately, b/c of what Shen said. The contamination thing. You generally need to wash diapers a lot harder and longer than clothes, b/c clothes don't get that dirty. It could start to ruin your clothes after time, or your diapers won't get clean enough.

Sounds like as long as things are working for you keep doing it..with the exception of the dryer ball..as someone else said it causes buildup and repelling...

The dryer:
In low heat every time or will that still break them down faster? I use medium if I have anything in there with PUL, high if I don't

Bounce dryer bar: yay or nay? Nay. I use Wool Dryer Balls and they work great, especially at getting out the static between the inserts

In washer:
Ive actually done this to my diapers twice before it occurred to me there might be some reason not to do this? Nope, I've often used vinegar and/or baking soda when I was diapers

Laundry soap: we use tide. The liquid kind. I've seen it mixed reviews on doing so, what are your thoughts? Lots of people like it! DS is allergic to it, so we use Rockin Green

Lastly, because I don't have that many yet, I've been washing my diapers with my baby clothes, kitchen rags, etc. Is there a particular reason I should wash my diapers just with themselves? None. I wash others stuff with diapers from time to time. Usually, my diaper laundry fills up the wash so I can't though. If he has a clothing change at daycare, they throw his dirty clothes in my wet bag, and I wash those with diapers. I often wash washcloths with diapers.

regarding the laundry detergent - if it's working for you, keep at it!

We use a mix of low, medium and medium/high. Mostly low.

Bounce dryer bar: yay or nay?
No, no fabric softener at all

In washer:
Every few times I wash my towels and stuff I throw them in before I turn on the water sprinkle a lot of baking soda all over them, then pour white vinegar over them. Ill run the washer once with just that and water, then I'll drain the water and add soap and wash again.

I hate using vinegar on my diapers becuause it reacts with the ph of his urine and makes them stink the next wearing. However everyone doesn't seem to have this problem.

Laundry soap: we use tide. The liquid kind. I've seen it mixed reviews on doing so, what are your thoughts?
Not a fan of Tide for anything, we use All I think. But if Tide works for you I don't see any reason not to use it.

Lastly, because I don't have that many yet, I've been washing my diapers with my baby clothes, kitchen rags, etc. Is there a particular reason I should wash my diapers just with themselves?

I do that a lot simply to save time. I think some worry about contamination while others may find it unnecessary since diapers use more water and energy(extra rinses, etc...)

The dryer:
In low heat every time or will that still break them down faster? I dry my inserts on medium and hang my pul to dry, and then fluff them all on low. I don't know if it was they dryer's fault, but i had some wetbags start leaking on me which is why i started doing it this way.

Bounce dryer bar: yay or nay? NOOOOO your diapers will start repelling like crazy.

In washer:
Every few times I wash my towels and stuff I throw them in before I turn on the water sprinkle a lot of baking soda all over them, then pour white vinegar over them. Ill run the washer once with just that and water, then I'll drain the water and add soap and wash again.
Ive actually done this to my diapers twice before it occurred to me there might be some reason not to do this? won't hurt anything, but the two kinda cancel eachother out if you do them in the same load.

Laundry soap: we use tide. The liquid kind. I've seen it mixed reviews on doing so, what are your thoughts? sounds good to me

Lastly, because I don't have that many yet, I've been washing my diapers with my baby clothes, kitchen rags, etc. Is there a particular reason I should wash my diapers just with themselves? not unless you are putting fabric softener in those loads.
