...been really sick, had surgery, or anything else that prevented you from being able to wash or otherwise care for your cloth diapers? What did you do?
Did someone else take over for you, or did you use disposables during that time?
If you haven't had something like that happen, do you have a plan in place just in case it does?

Back in January I got serious food poisoning and was in the hospital for 2 days. Dh and MIL took care of the kids..they just used disposable since we had them left over.

DH could do it and so could my mom, now that I have a wash routine that works every time. I have a post it on the washer that spells out what to do. DH uses all the diapers and has even padfolded a few flats, my mom has too even though she prefers to use the aplix Bottombumpers... and DH has drunk the Kool Aid and is anti sposie now, so I doubt he would even think of buying sposies. If my mom was in charge, though, I bet she would buy sposies if she was doing it more than a couple of days by herself. But realistically it woukd be both of them working together and so I am sure they would be fine.
When we had all prefolds and I was in the immediate postpartum period, DH and my mom were doing almost all the laundry and sorting, DH was doing most diaper changes, it was no problem. But the stash was much simpler then

I've only been that incapacitated a couple times ~ once was before Kaiden, and the 2nd was right after he came home from the NICU, and we were still in sposies then. But, DH will wash them as long as I give him very specific written directions.

a few times. One was when Teddy was being hospitalized for colitis (he was so rashy) , when i was hospitalized for kidney stones, and then early in this pregnancy when i just felt horrible. We just used sposies instead.

Only time I've really had that happen was after our Feb 2011 earthquake, when we were without power for 4 days and water for... 3? I still used my diapers, and just crossed my fingers that I would be able to wash before the diapers were ruined! I did use a few disposables but they reacted with Em's skin...

The only time where it was hard for me to do it was earlier in this pregnancy. I swear I threw up in my mouth a couple times. But after about a week I learned when to hold my breath and when it was okay to breathe. lol

Right after he was born I was on bedrest for almost 2 weeks. However we were using sposies at the time. However, my husband washes diapers a lot so it owuldn't be a big deal.

We've had to use disposables when moving and not knowing if or when we'd ever have a washer to use.
I've really struggled last month to get diapers washed on a timely manner. Pregnancy has been rough and then I got virus sick twice. I've been lucky to wash them every 6 days. I just got to them when I could. DH isn't home enough to wash them.

When I has mastisis a couple months ago. I used the rest of my cloth on him and didn't feel good enough to wash them so they sat a few extra days and DH went and bought a small pack of sposies.

Nope, I haven't. But I'd venture a guess that if such an event were to happen, Sarah would take over. Neely wouldn't, I can assure you. He changed Keelan out of his night time diaper this morning right after he had pooped and he PUT IT IN THE BATHTUB and left it there till I finally got up (I get to sleep in one weekend day) a few hours later. He said he didn't know what to do with it. Ugh.

It hasn't happened yet...but I have my mom and DH completely on the cloth wagon. They both can change, wash, and fold (my mom moreso than DH!) I think they would continue with cloth as much as they could.

We haven't had to cross that bridge, but I'm sure we'd probably continue with cloth. DH would be able to do the wash if I explained the wash routine to him and he's totally on board with changing cloth. If my mom was here helping out, she'd totally do diaper laundry or anything else needed.

Nope my DH does just about as much diaper laundry as I do (he just doesnt put it away he leaves it in a basket) hes good, he checks or suds and rinses until clear and everything!! So if something happened I'm sure C would still be in cloth
