I wasnt sure if i could do it but we just took a 2 week vacation and used cloth and no disposables. I was staying at my mom's house so it wasnt too bad for washing the diapers but i did fly so i had to make sure to wash the diapers at the right time so i didnt leave any dirty diapers at home when i left on the trip and didnt have a bunch dirty for the flight home. We came home early this morning so I had to bring the 2 night time diapers with us dirty but i double bagged them so it wasnt a big deal. We had no problems at all with them. And I got to go visit a local cloth diaper store while i was there which is always fun

Yay! Now that you have the first trip out of the way, the rest will be easy!

That's awesome! I keep fantasizing about taking our cloth when we go the States this Fall; we'll be gone for a month. I don't think it's very realistic though considering how much room the diapers will take up in the suitcase. We always buy a ton of stuff there and we don't want to get stuck paying extra on the return trip.

Yay congrats!!! I have always done hybrid sposie inserts for flying and planning to use eco sposies on the upcoming flight. You are more hardcore than I am

Woohoo! Great job! I've traveled with my CDs about 5 times now. I'll admit to using a few disposable inserts though. Cloth is just so bulky to bring on a plane and DD gets very VERY angry in a wet diaper in the car. So, disposable inserts it is. I think we've gone through one package of GroVia biosoakers in 21 months. Not terrible, IMO.

yes it did take up quite a bit of space. we had one carryon size rolling luggage dedicated solely to diapers. I also had about 4 in my diaper bag. it was worth it though. no rashes, no leaks

When we traveled by plane & DD was 5 weeks old I was able to do solely cloth because all I needed was boobs and diapers. Now that she requires distraction items and food, its become a bit more difficult to stuff all that she needs for an all day plane excursion into a diaper bag (our carry-on is always stuffed with something else because DH refuses to pay extra for baggage). Though I think now we've reached the other side of the hill because DD is using fewer diapers. So perhaps our next plane trip will be 100% cloth. Or diaper free!
