Got them just a few minutes ago. Bought them from Owensmom in the for sale sub-forum here Great deal and they are so fresh and clean, laundered and smelling great! I got 5 dozen prefolds, 1 dozen prefolds-to-fitteds, 18(!) newborn Thirsties covers in the colors I was going to buy(!), and a Thirsties diaper pail wetbag. All for $160 shipped. So excited...now I have all I need until I see what I prefer when the baby is a bit older

I remember seeing that FSOT listing and thinking it was a screaming deal!!! Congrats! With all those covers you could easily just trifold and not worry about poop getting all over them. A great stash!

Thanks! Yeah it was an awesome deal to be sure. She was supernice to come down on the price too since GMD is having a sale on newborn workhorse fitteds for $3, plus I needed a great deal to get dh on board.

What do you mean about the trifold? Would it be easier to tri-fold rather than snappi and then just wash the cover after each change? Is that what you mean? I'm new and lost hehe

Yeah, so usually you fold the prefold so it is roughly in thirds between the legs, but wraps around the belly and gets fastened with a snappi, boingos, or pins. With a good fold like a jellyroll you can contain even large messy poops within the prefold and get a lot of uses out of a cover before you have to wash it! If you have few covers (say 4), this is what you have to do.

A super easy way to do prefolds is just fold in thirds the long way (trifold) and lay in the cover, and just fasten the cover on. Works fine for pee and is commonly used for older babies who seldom poop and are harder to control during changes, since it is quicker and easier to put on. For newborns, you will get poop on the cover with every poop, which could be like 10x a day... but if you have ***18*** newborn covers... you are golden! Also, trifolding really extends how long the diaper fits, since you don't have to fully wrap the prefold around, and it works better in snug fitting covers too, so the same covers fit longer too.
