I got some free pre-folds and am trying to figure out if they are the correct size and absorbancy for my 2 year old before stripping and washing them all.

They have blue edges and measure 13x18.

i have no idea what they are but 13 x 18 sounds like it might be a little small for a 2 year, i dont think i would fit my 2 year old . How big is your little guy? if hes on the small side they may work

He is chunky. Maybe around 31 lbs. I have large thirsties covers and was hoping to trifold the prefold in them.

He has not been cloth diapered but we are expecting his sister next month who will be in cloth and so I figure why not get him in cloth too. Didn't want to buy 2 stashes, so I was hoping to get by with the handmedowns.

oh trifolding it may still work, i was thinking about trying to get it to fit around him but if you are just going to lay it in then i think it will be ok, its worth trying. Plus if it doesnt work then they are good to go when your little girl grows into them

Is there a reason why I would not want to trifold for a toddler? That would provide more absorbency, right?

Thanks! Totally new to the toddler cloth diapering.

Mine are 13x18. I use them for my almost 3 year old, she's 21lbs.

I usually use them trifold but can do them in a newspaper type fold.

As long as Sam isn't prone to runny poo, trifolding will be just fine. If he is, covers are more likely to get dirtied and need to be changed more frequently. Totally do-able either way though. E is still a little thing, but I'm still trifolding smalls for him and they are just fine. Plenty of absorbency.

Probably just some random DSQ prefolds. That sounds like Standard or Premium size to me. Trifolding sounds like a great way to use them!
