I am on the market for good newborn covers, that can be used before the cord stump falls off. What have been your faves?

I'll let you know in a few weeks. I have a variety that I'll be trying out.

I liked the Bummis superbrites too. They are prefect for those first few weeks. BUT, if I wanted an investment that was more solid, I would go with thirsties duos. They fit fine even with the stump (K even still had his clamp for a long time and they fit underneath it). And they lasted longer. They had a little more baggy fit for that first week, especially with just one newborn prefold underneath...but I thought the fact that they lasted for five months to be the real selling factor. We have three of them now and depending on if I get more prefolds, I might buy one or two more. I have one Bummis superbrite.

I like the Bummis Superlite. They are thinner and are made of a more cotton material on the outside instead of the plasticy feel.

A note on the thirsties though. While the are more pliable and may last longer size wise, the leg gussets wore out in half of mine. Both on the size 1 and size 2.
