My son is 19 months old, and is suddenly peeing and overflowing diapers. He has never been a big pee-er... I used to be able to get him through the night in just a trifolded prefold diaper... I have been using alva 3 layer bamboo inserts latley and they have been great, but in the past month he has been peeing out of them in less then an hour! What can I do? I could go back to flat diaper folded into his pockets, but they were so bulky!
I thought you stopped CDing because he got really bad rashes?
But anyway, its pretty normal for toddlers to start "holding and flooding." Sometimes it is short-lived and they go back to their normal potty ways (we have been through periods of heavy wetting with both boys already, it always seems to go back to a more normal wetting pattern for them after a few weeks). But in the meantime, try going back to the flats. OR, maybe add a newborn insert on top of the normal insert to see if just a little more absorbancy is what is needed. Possibly even something with a microfiber top, since he might be not allowing the inserts to soak it up since he is peeing so fast.
