Hi ladies. I'm exploring CD. I've found such an improvement with my LOs skin when in CD. I've researched so much for care of CD. But I have a Q on the bulk that prefolds leaves on the crotch area. My LO is about 12lb. I secure my bummies infant prefolds with bambino mio pants. But I feel the crotch leaves such a wide padding. Is this bad for baby (hips, etc)? The bummies prefolds are the "right size" according to manufacturer sizing. Thanks in advance for advice!
here's pic of my LO in diapers. crotch area look too widened in this prefold/pants combo? The prefold is in a simple thirds fold. (sorry large file!)

No it won't hurt the baby if there is a little extra. I am not sure about the bummis prefolds I have only used the GMD prefolds. You could also look at the GMD workhorse fitteds they might fit a bit more like you want. I normally just go with the ones with no snaps and just use a snappi with them. Babies at that age are meant to have their legs and hips spread apart with legs a bit up. That's why the old Snugli carriers were so bad. They were recalled because they forced the legs together and down and babies had hip issues. Look at Ergo type carriers and how the legs have a wide gap for support and the legs are meant to wrap up and around mom's (and dad's) body. Prefolds have been used for many years with great success and no known issues. Also, GMD does have "see it on a baby" pics so you can see if it looks like what you are seeing with your baby

Thanks ladies. I think my baby ends up with a larger gap. Maybe it's the pants? I'm going to try to load an image. I'll write "update" in the post title when I do. Thanks. Here's the bummis site: Bummis - Cloth Diapers
