ugh it is so addictive

i have those punk striped shorties for christian and love love the quality and the yarn is sooo nice, not to soft that it gets snagged too fast but not too rough either, just a perfect blend. i have to ask her what kind of yarn she uses!

but anyways i just found out though it will cost me $28 for the longies for a newborn/smalls...grrrr i know it's worth it but it's so hard to do it. how do these mamas buy 4-5 pairs of woolies that cost $50 each?? none of mine for christian cost over $20....

Yes, it is so addictive. They are so cute and I've been spending more than I should on them. I just know that I'll use them for a new baby (whenever that may be) and then I can sell them again for near what I paid if they are in good condition still.

I also have a couple of sweet mamas here that are knitting me some for cheaper than most mamas charge. I did have to buy the yarn which in itself can be expensive, but I found a place that had fairly cheap wool yarn, but better quality than the yarn that is at Michael's craft store.

You could also attempt to learn how to knit or crochet yourself or you could make some recycled longies.

When you say it is so worth it, why is it worth it? Whats the benefit of using wool?

Using wool is absolutely amazing!

You get more airflow to your LO's tush so much less bum rashes (James has only ever had one and that one only lasted a day)
It is anitbacterial and antimicrobial so once you've used it once, you let it air dry and you are good to use it again - only wash it every 1-2 weeks
It's better for the environment - let's face it PUL takes just as long as sposies to deteriorate
They are warm in the winter and cool in the summer
You get the option of buying wool washes in different scents (I'm getting Sandalwood so my little man smells like my big man LOL )
They are totally adorable!

Seriously..... if you think of it this way

PUL or vinyl covers - wash after every few uses - any material around legs and such if they get damp will irritate baby's skin
Have to hang dry them because if you don't they don't last nearly long enough IMO
Take a long time to break down once they've been thrown out.
Don't allow the LO's bum to breathe - bottoms can get sweaty and culture bacteria

Wool - Longies work as pants and a cover in one making changes faster
Only have to wash every one to two weeks
Antimicrobial and Antibacterial
Allow the LO's bottom to breathe
Break down easily when/if they are thrown away
Special Smelling Washes
Lay flat to dry

Hands down wool beats out it's competition, it may be pricey but it's worth it.... and let's face it, there's a little love stitched into each and every one of them

LOL well it's good tostart with 2 so you can have 1 on the bum while the other dries - drying in between changes can take an hour - and drying after washing can take 24-72 hrs depending on where you are located.... but seriously much better IMO
