I'm having such a terrible time making an appt. for my first visit. I don't usually go very early anyway, because there isn't much they can do during the first trimester and I've never had any issues early on. I'm not terribly interested in the screening, I've never opted for it before and I wouldn't terminate anyway. I would of course like to know about very serious conditions, but the genetic counselor last time told me we would be able to see those sorts of issues on ultrasound if they were present, so again I'm just not worried about missing that early screening.
I can't believe how much anxiety I'm having about going back to this place though. My last appt. there before my 3rd child was born ended with me being whisked off to L&D due to very, very high b/p. I guess it was kind of traumatizing because I get a terrible rush of nerves every time I think about picking up the phone and calling them. UGH.
I can understand why it would be hard to go back given what your last appointment was like!
I haven't had mine yet either. I did have an ultrasound at 7 weeks to confirm a heartbeat but I told my midwife I would come see her after the holidays since it is such a busy time of year. I'll probably see her in a few weeks, she is going to call with an appointment date soon.

Ahh, that's good to hear. It makes me feel much better knowing there are others out there who wait a bit. I have heard the hb with my doppler several times, so I am able to check on things a bit that way. I look forward to an u/s but I just really hate all the constant dr. appts so I am never in a big hurry to get them going. I do love this dr. though so that helps a bit.
I think the only reason I went in at 6 weeks was because of a previous loss. THen when they saw it was twins they were like we will see you between 8-10 weeks. And of course I wasn't supposed to go in today but my sister and mom got me all worried since i was having stomach pain They asked me to come in because being high risk. I honestly think less is better, my sister I Think her first visit was around 11-12 weeks any ways.
good luck! It was really hard going back after my D&C. So get the nerves!
