Hi I'm Stephanie.. so I was really surprised to learn I was pregnant! I really was starting to think I couldn't have kids&now that i am I'm so nervous&anxious! I'm 11weeks2days&a lot of women in my family have lost babies so that is a HUGE fear of mine! Im from Philadelphia but have moved near Pittsburgh PA so I don't have family or friends here.. I'm trying not to stress but Im very nervous.. any advice?
Well to me, during my first pregnancy I had to do a lot of surrendering emotionally and physically. I had (and have) an anxiety disorder and I have struggled with anorexia most of my life. When I was pregnant with my son (about six years ago) I was nervous and terrified and anxious about the weight gain mostly but everything really.
That's why I say I did a lot of surrendering. You just have to surrender to your body. I feel like when I am pregnant I simply do not have control over my body. I do not have control over what I want to eat, when I have to go to the bathroom, how big my belly gets, or what happens with the pregnancy (beyond what you can do to keep yourself healthy during pregnancy). When you give things up to God or Mother nature (if you aren't religious) and trust that, things get easier. It's easier said than done tho.
Luckily you are really close to your second trimester and things become more stable afterwards. I hope that helped!

Totally agree!!! Best of luck and congrats! Welcome to the board and there's a lot of excellent support here from these wonderful ladies! You've came to the right place
Welcome and congrats!
To sum up my 1st trimester - I felt like I had a medical condition that forced me to change eating habits and made me feel like crap most of the time.
Around 10wks my symptoms cleared up and little milestones like the 1st ultrasound, hearing the heartbeat, and finding out the gender have all helped me come around to the "I'm pregnant" part. Just give yourself time and have faith that your body knows what it is doing, the rest will come
So happy to have another one join the club!!!
