What are you all doing for birth control?

I have a prescription for Ortho Micronor (pill) which is supposed to be compatible with breast feeding. I haven't been on BC for 9 years so I'm a little nervous about taking it! I was on Ortho Tricyclen Lo during college, and it gave me headaches.

I know I don't want an IUD or Depo, so the choices are either the pill or condoms.

I definitely don't want another baby for at least 2-3 years. We want a second baby once Nora is older (probably when she is at least 2 or 3 we will start trying), but right now I want to completely focus on her and myself. I loved being pregnant, but I need a break from it!

I am getting my tubes tied after this one. But after my DD I had a Mirena and could not stand the bad cramps and and it caused. I cant takeBC because the harmones cause me to put tones of water weight on.

I used FAM to get pregnant so that's what we'll use to avoid pregnancy, with condoms during my fertile window. I don't want to take hormonal bc and don't want to avoid for long enough to make an IUD cost effective.

As of now, we'll start TTC again when Penny is 12-15 months old. The older kids are 24 months apart and it was a nice age difference I think.

For the last 6 years we've been NTNP and didn't get pregnant until I started charting for 4 months. I've also thought about FAM but I'd be afraid with breast feeding messing up my cycles.

The IUD wouldn't be cost effective for us either, since we want to TTC way before 5 years is up.

Will probably use NFP for the next few years at least. Maybe a barrier method after that. I am pretty sure this is our last but we won't do anything permanent for birth control.

Probably just half-assed rhythm method. We needed IVF after 3 years of trying, so I'm not too worried. Sex is not even on my radar yet though. Like, at all.

The IUD scares me as well. I've heard some horror stories about it.

I'm really not sure that we could get pregnant without trying. We tried for 4 months, but like I said, we didn't use any protection after getting married (6 years). The BC decision is really hard for me- I don't want to take anything or use anything, but breastfeeding is going to throw my cycles off and I can't chart if I'm not getting any periods.

2 years of trying with pcos and DH is deploying at end of year, I am not too concerned. As of now I want to start trying around 12-18 months. Depends when DH gets back and both of our career plans.

If I was still nursing we'd end up just doing pull out and/or condoms.

Even with FAM it took 6 cycles to get pregnant, then 7 to get a sticky baby.

I had the paragaurd IUD after the twins, for 5 years (lasts 10 years) and didn't have problems with it. I'll get another one after we're finished having more kids.

I don't know if you ladies ever looked into Nuvaring but back in University I loved it. None of the side effects of the pill and it's a set it and forget it type of birth control until month end.

I'm not sure what we're going to do because used fertility medications to get pregnant the first time and now DH is on a monthly injection of Avonex which he would need to stop in order for us to TTC again. I'm honestly thinking condoms until we decide if baby number 2 is in the cards. I'm not fortunate enough to have pregnancy amnesia yet so it's hard to think anyone would do this more than once
