My 4.5 year old has a really neat car bed that we bought not too long ago and I'm thinking about trying to put my 2.5 year old in it with him once the new baby comes. It's a single bed. Anyone had luck with having 2 kids in one bed or is this just a recipe for disaster?

Lurking from the May DDC board. My boys begged to share a room. Once my youngest turned 2 I put them in the same room, separate beds. That didn't last long, they sleep together. They've been sharing a room/bed for almost a year now and I haven't had any problems. Try it and see how it goes

It's worth it to try at least. If not, maybe you could invest in a set of bunk beds? I know the ones we had separated into two twins when the time came to move them. I'd at least try it out and then later on buy the bunks when they get too big to share or if it doesn't work out like you hoped.

I only have DD, so can't offer experience but sounds like it will work out just fine! I'm sure they'll love it.

yup, it definitely works! When they get bigger, they'll probably want bunk beds or something, but my friend's kids shared a bed until the oldest was 8!

Lurking from October DDC...

My girls share a bed. They are 4 1/2 and almost 3. I side-carred the little one's crib with my 4 year old's twin bed. Then, they eventually just started sleeping in the same bed. Now that they've had a couple of growth spurts and kick each other all the time, we bought them a queen mattress and they love it!

I am lurking from the Sept ddc My girls only just stopped sleeping together a few months ago and they are 8 and 6. They had their own beds but always ended up in there together.

Thanks ladies. For those of you that did this, did you find that if one woke up crying for some reason (bad dream, etc.), would the other one also wake up?
