So my hubby and I got into a big fight last Sunday and my BP spiked to 171/114 so I went to the hospital, of course. My BP went down to 146/86 and then went back up to 163/103 and they sent me home (for whatever reason...) I had an appointment at 2:15 the next day where my BP was still high (shocker). I could hear the OB speaking to one of the nurses outside of the room saying "Who is in room 3?!..... With a BP like that?!..... She needs to go. Now." The the OB walked in, complimented me on my nails (lol) and said "You're having this baby now. There is no other option right now." She swiped my membranes and sent me on my way. I was only still about 2 cm dilated and 40% effaced.
Hubby and I stopped home, grabbed my bags, let the dogs out and headed to hospital. Luckily, it's only about 10 minutes away.
I was admitted of course and they ended up giving me 2 cervadril (sp?) during the night. The next morning at 6 a.m. they gave me an IV of Pictocin and slowly increased it every 30 minutes or so. By 10 a.m. they ruptured my water. I got a relaxer at around noon and the contractions became unbearable and I got an epidural by 1 p.m. My doc got there at 2:15. I started pushing at 2:30 and she was out at 2:57pm on 1/7/14. She measured 19" long, 6lbs 1oz.
We were discharged a little over 24 hours later. I'm so glad I didn't have to have a c-section and that everything went smoothly and that she has arrived safe and sound. Even though my pregnancy was tough, I wouldn't have changed a thing!
Presenting:
Lorelai!
(pics are huge was usual.. lol)
