I suffered with an ED for about a year in high school. I purposely stopped eating(except for like one piece of toast or half a bowl of grits a day). I just felt a lot of pressure to be skinny and I was a little chubby(man, if I could have that "chubby" back now LOL) . The first few days were hard, but then it's like you get a 'high' out of doing it. It makes you feel so powerful.
So anyways, I dropped 40 lbs. I did this for a little over half a year. I was skinny at this point, under the recommended weight for my height. I still thought I was fat so I continued.
So then I went on a mission trip with my school to Africa for 2 weeks. It was too hard to hide and people were getting suspicious anyways cuz I had been having headaches and dizziness and they didn't see me eat often. So I ate a small amount at each meal. This progressed into eating like a normal person again.
I was then so upset with myself for eating again, I started vomiting after everything. I only did this for a few months because it was just too sickening for me.
So needless to say, I permanently damaged my metabolism and can't eat near as much now as I used to be able to and gained the weight back and more.
I've had thoughts of doing it again once I stop breastfeeding. But I'll probably try to do it more healthfully if that makes sense.
