Recovery to me means free will. It means I can do things without having to think about who will be there, what they will think of me, what foods will be around, if I will have to deal with my weight, etc. It means I can enjoy little things in life that I was once too distracted to even see. And it means I can pretend I never had a problem (outwardly) and get away with it (aka: I look and behave healthfully). I think recovery is one of those things that you strive for and don't even realize you get until you look back at it. At least that is what it is to me.
I think each month, year or day it means something different to me. Somtimes it's a quite mind, sometimes it's freedom from the control of food, sometimes it's just being able to manage things and make it through the moment or day
