I've started having to carry a change of clothes with me. I'm sure we are all experiencing the loss of bladder control. The occasional dribble when you sneeze.

But I've been sick for over 3 weeks now. And it all started with chest congestion and a pesky cough. The cough will NOT budge. So I keep coughing and coughing and coughing. And you guessed it. Each time, I pee a little.

So heaven forbid I go into a bona fide coughing fit, and have a semi-full (a.k.a. no completely and utterly empty) bladder! I have now completely soaked an overnight pad and wet THROUGH my pants...3 times!!!!!!!!

This is mortifying.

maybe get some adult diapers until the cough subsides? It sucks, I know. I had the stomach flu last week and every time I threw up, you guessed it, I pee'd all over myself. I haven't done the adult diaper thing but, if I had to change my clothes every time I coughed, I'd seriously consider it. ((hugs))

Pads! For sure. BUT, I would also talk to your doc. While this is very common, it doesnt happen to everyone. Sometimes they check for amniotic fluid when it keeps happening.

Unfortunately, for some women (me) the bladder control doesnt get much better after birth. After 3 kids I definitely have to go potty ever hour or two - or rather - it is very hard to "hold" it.

I can relate. I actually had pertussis and the cough has lasted over 60 days. If I have a full bladder and get caught in a coughing fit, I will pee my pants and soak the floor. It's bad!

The cough is finally subsiding (knock on wood!) Just about to finish my second round of antibiotics, and taking Mucinex seemed to make a big difference. I'm still coughing a little bit, but it's not nearly as bad, and I'm not wetting my pants anymore!
Kayakgirl, Caerus and topato like this.

Thank goodness! It sounded awful, and really embarrassing!

I'm sorry... I literally make a bee line for the bathroom when I start sneezing or coughing.. for some reason when I sneeze I start gagging in the morning which usually leads to dry heaving and you can guess what happens next. Seems to only happy in the morning when I'm getting ready so sometimes I'm not even dressed all the way yet, but i feel your pain.

I thought you were talking about sweat... I'm a sweating mess these days! It's so gross.

I'm right there with you! I'll need to start wearing pads soon. Even laughing sometimes gives my bladder a little spasm. Oh the joys of pregnancy.
