i've bought very few things, tbh. i have a lot already, since my son's still little, and i can reuse a lot of his old stuff... but they're opposite seasons, so i'm not sure if i can really reuse any of his old clothes.

i bought a crib and bedding, an outfit for him to come home in (from old navy, nothing extravagant), and a bunch of leg warmers. oh, and my dh brought home two packs of newborn diapers earlier this week. ...THAT'S IT. i feel horrifically unprepared, but i wonder what else i honestly need.

Topato .. I think you are probably just fine. Blankets and onsies during August and September is almost everything you need if it is a hot month (well depending on how cool you keep your house!)

I am going very minimal with respect to clothing for 0-3 months. I had a little bit of my daughters old "keep sake" stuff that I can use and purchased a few more onsies, a couple of sleeping gowns and like 5 footed sleepers. I think that I will likely need more clothing but until I know how big she is (she will be early) I do not want to get too much stuff and wash and then not really get to use it.

edited to add: I kind of gotten the "need to get stuff done" bug over the last few weeks. Last Sunday I picked up a brand new car seat (the exact model I wanted and currently selling at the store for $40 more than I paid), a baby bathtub, a floor playmat and a few outfits and blankets from 2 different Craigs listing. Today I went shopping for nursing bras/tops and the stroller to match the car seat. The last few thing I really need at this point is ordering my breast pump, buying a few more baby towels, a diaper bag, and a baby carrier for baby wearing.

Second this; I don't even bother with newborn sizes. they go straight into 1's.

I'm holding off on anything size-wise. We don't know how big he'll be and for how long. I have a couple of outfits just because they're cute but I won't get more than that. With DD we bought a ton of stuff in advance based off of sizes and times of the year that she'd be in those sizes. Then she ended up being so incredibly small for no reason that she was in preemie stuff for a really long time and nothing we bought ever fit her in the right season. Since we don't know how big this one will be or what the weather will be like here, there's no point in buying stuff yet.

My boy was pretty small, he fit all his newborn clothes for almost 3 months.I think he fit it all b/c he lost 13% of his body weight though. So i dont know, the doc says Reid is growing a week ahead of me. We will see.
