Ophelia Frances

I think that is it. I still like the idea of giving her a singers name since that is DD1's middle name. BUT:

Francois is DH's Dads name (Died when he was 8 months old). So we would have:Chase William for my dad, RoseLynn for my Mom and DH grandma, Ophelia Frances for DH's dad. Looks like his mom is out.

Also, St Francis is my fav saint, goes well with my treehugging, animal loving self. And here are some other interesting Frances females.

Famous real-life people named Frances: | EditFrances Ethel Gumm - birth name of American actress Judy Garland
Frances Bean Cobain - daughter of Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love
Frances McDormand - American actress
Frances Fitzgerald - American journalist and author
Frances Mayes - American author
Frances Elena Farmer - American actress
Frances O'Connor - Australian actress
Frances Conroy - American actress
Frances Perkins, US Secretary of Labor under FDR. She was the first woman to serve as a cabinet secretary.

Frances in song, story & screen: | EditFrances, a temperamental young badger in Russell Hoban's picture books
Franny Glass, a character in JD Salinger's fiction, most notably the novel Franny and Zooey
Frances "Baby" Houseman, the heroine of the film "Dirty Dancing", played by Jennifer Grey

I also like the way it flows in its old fashioned way. What do you think? I am pretty sure this is it if I dont do the song thing.

I like it; it has an old-timey sound that I really like. And, I like that it's a family-related name; most of my kids have family names as middle names.

i like it too!

darwin's mn was set as francis for a bit, but i changed it, because thats what i do. i change my mind constantly.

...we had frances and francine on our girls mn list too. my paternal grandmother was frances, and francis is a very common name with the men on my mother's side of the family (my grandfather's mn, my uncle's first name, and it's the mn of one other uncle and several cousins).

also, a loooong time ago, my father in law was studying to become a priest (woulda made my life different, huh!? he got kicked out of the seminary!) anyway, he was devoted to st francis, so that name means a lot to him too.

my internal monologue, right now, seriously: "no kat, you cant change darwins middle name back to francis. you cant. stop it."
