I had been lying down on the couch for a few hours last night. We were watching American Idol and DH gave me a foot rub (smart man ). I got up and went to the bathroom and there was bright red blood, quite a bit on the toilet paper so I looked in the toilet and there was a decent (1/2 dollarish size) clot in there. I did the ugly cry to DH, just knowing it was over. Put on a pad and fell asleep. Our 2yr old woke up around 4am, I went to the bathroom them expecting to not see good things...and surprisingly there wasn't a drop on the pad or when I went to the bathroom. This morning I went ahead and called the OB's office. I just wanted to do a blood draw, I knew it was too early for an u/s to see anything, but they insisted I see the OB. Mine was out so I had to see the on call one. He was really great. He just called me and beta was 515! I'm 17 DPO today. Wednesday at 15 DPO it was 209. So they are looking great. I need to relax...but having 2 losses in a row I don't really see that happening for a long time, if ever!

It might have been a uterine blood clot, called a subchorionic hematoma. Most of the time they are relatively harmless and will dissolve on their own. I had one during second pregnancy. It took a long time to go away because my son used it as a trampoline. But it went away and he's here just fine.

I've had a SCH in 2 previous pregnancies (and both were successful not one of our losses), but they never presented this early and never as much blood came out as it did last night. OB said he thought it might have just been implanting more. Guess time will tell...but at least I can feel a little relief for now.

Oh my goodness that sounds so scary, I can only imagine how awful that was. Since you've had the fun of SCH you know the drill already. But just to make you feel a bit more comfortable I had heavy heavy clot bleeding a lot with DD with a SCH. But geez seeing bleeding anytime in pregnancy is so scary.

That must have been so scary. This 1st trimester seems to be the most nerve wracking! Your beta sounds great! Some sticky for you!
