Yesterday I was heading to see my sister and get pedicures. I was on the freeway, fast lane, when several cars ahead of me started braking hard and swerving to the left but I couldnt see why. So I obviously slowed way down right away. Then I saw a car go straight on into the dividing wall! He bounced back and was facing the other way. I had enough time to slow down significantly, make sure the car pool lane next to me was clear, and swerved into that lane. Then the other car suddenly swung BACK into my lane and hit me. It hit me more from the side than the front. If I had been one second further ahead, it would have be SO much worse! It was the scariest thing!! I already have anxiety regarding car accidents (whole family-minus me-were in two seperate accidents that nearly killed them all both times, about a year apart, one happening on Easter weekend) then to have someone hit that *** wall in front of me... I kept seeing that image over and over.

Im fine, baby is fine. I didnt hit the steering wheel, I had my seatbelt on low across my lap. A couple cops had been on the road and stopped as did a girl who had been behind me. The other driver had gotten out, looked, then got back in. I stayed seated, shaking, crying. I had called 911, the cop called someone. Another guy stopped who was a paramedic. He checked on me cause I had said Im pregnant. But the other guy was hurt, his neck and head. I told him to just worry about him, I was ok. He was eventually taken by ambulance. The paramedics agreed that I was ok and I didnt need to be taken but told me to go get checked.

I couldnt believe how little damage there was to my car! Especially with the damage to his just at the point of impact from hitting me. It looked sos scary from in the car but not bad once we were seperated. I was able to drive away. Amazing to me since I was doing at least 70 to start with.

After all of this, we discovered that there had been a ladybug in the car with me. They are around me often, and in unusual places. They show up when Im upset. They have always represented my grandpa. I cried when I realized he was with me.

In the end, everything is fine. My car is driveable. He had insurance. Baby is perfectly fine. I am just really sore!

Oh my gosh, that sounds absolutely terrifying! Way to go being able to slow down enough to avoid it being even worse. It's so scary how things like that happen in just a split second. I'm glad you and the baby are doing ok.

It was crazy. I cant believe how sore I was with so little actual damage to the car. Yesterday I could barely hold my son for more that a few minutes at a time. Much better today. Its also a comfort that starting this morning Ive felt a lot of movement, I hadnt really before now. Even my hubby can feel it

That's a good reminder to wear your seat belt down low. Thank goodness you knew that because I don't think everyone is aware. DH recently went on a call where a woman was the passenger in a pretty minor accident.... she was 8 months with the seat belt across her belly and she lost the baby. I am super conscious of it now!
