If they did at all, that is! My mom said all 3 of us kids were out of newborn-sized clothes in about a week. I know this probably varies greatly among kids, so what was your experience?

I'm wondering the same thing. I am about ready to return every newborn size outfit I've already received and just keep the hand-me-downs.

My ds1 was in them for about a week He was 7lbs 13oz. DD1 was in preemie for the first 2 weeks and newborn for another month after that. She was 5lbs 15oz. My dd2 was in preemie for about a week and then newborn for about a month. She was 6lbs 10ozs. DS2 was 7lbs 1oz and was in newborn for about 2 weeks. So it really just depends on the baby. But I definitely wouldn't over by in that size.

Our little guy wore newborn for the first 4-5weeks. He weighed 6 lbs 15oz at birth... Most of the newborn clothes I have we received at our baby shower. We did not have a shower this time around and are having another boy so I didn't have to but anything. I of course wanted a few new outfits but bout all of them in 3, 6, 9, ect months no new newborn though.

I don't really remember b/c it was so long ago. But my biggest baby at 8lbs14oz was barely in them for a week. But I had her wear them b/c they were super cute and gifts. I don't think my others were in them much longer.

Babies do lose a couple ounces of weight in the hospital, some gain it back but mine always came home a little lighter than their birth weight.

DD was only 5lbs5oz, so she got a lot of use out of newborn clothes... like at least a month!

My DD was 9lbs 5ozs and never wore NB clothes or diapers. Pretty sure these twins will be much much smaller and hopefully wear them a little while since I have tons!

My first was 6lbs2oz and wore newborn clothes for about 2 weeks. My second was 7lb13oz but never fit in newborn clothes because he was so long. Newborn diapers didn't last more than 2 weeks or so with both.

My older son was 4lb 13oz, so once he grew into them, he wore newborn clothes for a few weeks. My younger son was 8lb 6oz, and he didn't wear many newborn clothes, maybe a few in the first week or so.

This time, I registered for just a couple newborn outfits, just in case, but I mostly just registered for 0 to 3 months.

About a month, but I don't buy many newborn clothes at all. My kids have ranged from 7lbs5oz to 8lbs10oz but they have all been long which makes them leaner and the NB clothes for longer. I usually just get a few NB outfits and sleepers and the rest make 0-3 work.

My son was 7lb 1oz, but lost 13% of his body weight in the hospital. He went to 6lb 3oz. He stayed in newborn almost 2 months

My first was in them about 6 weeks (5lb11oz at birth) my 2nd was in them about a month (7 pounds at birth). What I do is get just enough newborn clothes to get by and do laundry more frequently at first...then I am not spending a whole lot on newborn clothes and they get a lot of use out of them. I try and have about 6 sleepers, 5-6 onesies, 2 pairs of pants, and maybe one cute outfit.

Our smallest baby was swimming in newborn clothes at birth she was 6 lb 1 oz she wore them awhile. It was fun! She looked like a baby doll. I don't think this baby will have that problem since she's measuring 2 weeks ahead already ;-)

This was a great question to ask! I thought I had a TON of NB clothes and I was worried, but when I went through and sorted them out I actually have a lot more 0-3 months, and just a handful of NB outfits. All hand-me-downs, so I'm not so worried anymore
