lol.. I use these lists to determine what name NOT to choose.

The sad thing is that I do actually like a lot of these names, but I don't want my kiddo to be 1 of 7 Asher's/ Imogen's in their class.

I would rather avoid names at the top of these lists too. DH won't budge though... I think we're sticking with Harper. It's interesting to me that Harper is high on the girl list as well as the boy list. Oh well. I'm hoping it's a geographically popular name because I don't know anyone named Harper where we live. I even checked with DD's school.... not a single one. lol.

Thanks, Tara....we need it, don't even have a long or short list yet!!

It did say the list was based on names viewed, not names given...but interesting in that you get to see where people are possibly leaning and the trends. Glad to not see any of my current kids names on there, and only Wyatt that I would consider for this one.

My 7yr old daughter has one girl friend named Harper, that's the only one we've come across so far...we live in the NE. But I figured with the Beckham's naming their daughter that, there'd be a little surge. My DH loves the name too, it is cute!

I also use these lists to know what to avoid! I wont use a top 100 name. Im really surprised and disappointed by it! There are several names I like on there! Asher is #1?!? Felix is 18? Crazy.

In my defense, Greyson was not on any list when I chose it!! It kills me to see it on the top 100

I'd like to meet the boy named Evelyn. Is that like A Boy Named Sue? Lol

My name always makes the top 100. =(
DH's name never makes any list.

DSD is Harper. I like it but I prefer more traditional names; which I see are making a comeback.

but this list isnt the top 100 names *used* in 2014, just the top viewed names on this specific site this year. that makes a huuuuge difference.

also, evelyn was originally a man's name!

Imogen #1 girls name?!?! How do you even pronounce that name? It kills me that the name we are leaning towards, Charlotte, is #2.

I thought I was being unique when I named my daughter Cadence in 2008. Since then I have met a dozen or so lol. One even goes to her tiny tiny charter school and is in my oldest son's grade!

Perhaps you can thank the My Little Pony cartoon for that
