What's the first thing you will buy for baby?

Has anyone purchased anything yet?

I really don't need much, I need a few diapers, I need some receiving blankets to make baby wipes out of, and nipple cream. if it is a girl. I am sure I will be a few girly things, but otherwise we are set. won't be making any purchases till this summer

We don't plan on buying much. We need cloth diapers and that's about it.

My mom kept a ton of stuff from when we were kids. I get the bassinet that I slept in till I could crawl, baby clothes and I'm making blankets.

Just need to buy a new sheets for the bassinet, and, of course, a car seat.

We live in a 1 bed room house so there won't be an official nursery- so that should save us money!

hmmm.....pregnancy tests? lol

I really don't need much at all. I'll probably buy him or her a new outfit or 2, definitely one for coming home. Our biggest purchase is adding a bathroom to our downstairs room to make it the master bedroom and then move the kids into our current room.

Books!! DH and I are total bibliophiles and reading was always important when I was a child - my mom taught my siblings and I how to read by the time we were 3, and I hope to do the same. I plan to have our nursery stockpiled with children's books

When my neighbor had her baby she had her shower host ask everyone to buy a book instead of a card and write inside why they chose the book. She got so many books!!

I'm starting from scratch, so I'll need to be purchasing gradually; I don't want to wait until the end & be trying to get it all at once. It will probably be gender neutral things like diapers, wipes, health kits & burp cloths, etc.

I think we'll probably have to buy a new infant carrier. Apparently, they have expiration dates. And I used the one we have for my 4th for 15 months, and my 10-month-old is still in it. I guess a solid 2 years + of use probably justifies a new one....

the expiration date or the made date will be stamped on the bottom of the seat. if it is the manufactured date you have usually 5 years from that date before it expires.

We have an infant seat that we used for DS#3, it is only 2 years old so we are good there.

we will need another diono radian when baby gets bigger, but at least I have time to save for it!

I have already gone to Carter's and bought a footed sleeper and a toy.

Since it will have been 6 1/2 years since our last child I have a bit of shopping to do. I gave away a lot of things from when our daughter was a baby. We will need a crib, car seat, stroller, swing, clothes, blankets, a new breast pump....the list goes on and on.

I went to a kids sale the other day, and bought another bouncer and several pairs of Jammie's size 6-12 months. Nate ruin all his learning to crawl on our tile floors. Other than that, we're set. If it's a girl, all I have to do is tell my mom, and the pink will flow into the house lol

We have to buy a new infant carrier / travel system as well. We bought one brand new for my daughter and then let my neighbours borrow it for their son who was born exactly a year later and they completely destroyed it. It's okay though, I want a different travel system this time anyway

We lost all of my son's stuff in a house fire earlybkast year, so I am starting from scratch. I have no idea what will be first. I will watch for sales as soon as I know this baby will be sticking around.

So soon as I know boy/girl...zulily here I come! Since I had my foster son from birth to 8 months I pretty much know what I want. .. Unfortunately for me I sent everything with him. .. swing, bouncer, toys, clothes. .. everything. But I don't regret it...I can sideways buy more stuff. First thing I buy will probably be a pregnancy pillow that also doubles as a nursing pillow.
