DF finally told his parents that I'm pregnant a couple days ago. They actually reacted really well. At first they just said they were "excited but worried [I won't finish university]" then an hour later his mom said she was really excited to have a grandbaby.

She just asked me questions like how I was feeling, how far along I was. She was quite surprised I was 20 weeks and said you can't tell at all by looking at me. I told her it was a boy and she said "I always wanted boys, I didn't want a girl at all" (she has two boys). So she's happy it's a boy. I thought she'd prefer a girl since she had two boys. There is only one other kid on their whole side of the family and it's a girl, so this is the first boy. She wants to throw a baby shower so I'll be having two (one with each side of the family). She surprisingly asked if we're using cloth or disposables and was amazed that cloth doesn't have pins anymore. And she said she can't help but look at all the baby stuff in stores now. She's already looking at stuff to have at their place for when we bring him over.

His mom won't let me clean the cat boxes and insists she is coming over every morning when we move to clean them. She doesn't want me to play with the dog because "he pulls too hard". She doesn't want the dog to jump on me (neither do I). We have pet rats and she doesn't think they should be in the same room as me. She keeps trying to feed me insane amounts of food. She keeps asking if I want her to buy me anything special. It's kind of cute. I know a lot of people would hate that, but my mom passed away when I was 2 so I've never really had a mom/someone act like that. It's nice.

So phew So much stress gone about how they would react. And since she's excited I finally have someone to share my excitement.

Wow, I'm amazed you got to 20 weeks while living with them without them noticing! You must have a tiny frame

I'm glad it went so well and that your future MIL is being so good to you this time. Nobody needs the stress of judgemental friends/family added to a pregnancy. It must be a relief to have that out of the way

It kind of makes me happy that he waited so long. At 20 weeks there is no way she'd say to have an abortion. And when DF told her he pretty much said straight up that I was pregnant and we were having the baby. She didn't say one word about why we're keeping it or anything, so relieving. DF told her while they were away for the weekend and she said she wanted to talk to me when they got home. I cried the whole day because I thought she was going to be rude, now I feel silly for that because she reacted so well.

I'm pretty surprised they didn't notice. I guess to people who don't really know my body I just look like I gained a bit of weight. DF can definitely tell and thinks I'm huge lol. I pretty much live in pj's and sweaters at home, so it is harder to tell sometimes. But if I'm in yoga pants and a tank top/t-shirt, it's quite noticeable I thought. All my pants still fit, but are getting snug so I guess I just feel huge.

I am looking pretty similar to you I will be 20 weeks this coming Monday. If I dont tell someone they can't tell I am pregnant. I have kinda always carried that way...

I am so glad you got a good reaction My mil has still not even acknowledged I have not talked to his family at all since we announced it at 14 weeks. I dont talk to my mom so its upsetting that his mom can't be happy when we announce pregnancies...always negative.

That's great! I know you've been stressing about it from the beginning, so I'm glad that it's out in the open and you have a mom-figure in your life who is fussing over you now Enjoy it mama!

It is good that he finally told and it's nice now that they are positive that they are involved. Also looking at your picture with your shirt on, you don't look pregnant but give 2 weeks and I'm sure you will. Nice you're still fitting in your pants. I had to abandon mine since week 14, except for my work out pants and some leggings.

It's such a huge relief. I've been so much happier and more relaxed the last couple days. I've just been walking around smiling because I'm so excited and just want to talk about it with her. I feel so excited for him now, way more than I was before. I feel like I can't find anything to distract myself so I just walk around being a bit hyper lol. I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve.

I'm hoping I start showing more soon. I like being smaller but want a belly too. But I do like friends/family telling me I'm so small lol. It feels good, especially after I cried (oh hormones...) when the scale said I gained 8 pounds (I was bloated, it's actually 5ish).

Oh and she gave me a bunch of dresses that don't fit her anymore (we're the same height, she just has bigger boobs so they were too tight) which is amazing. I have about 20 now so that's what I'll wear most of the time this summer. She also gave me some loose shirts that are a size up from what I usually wear so they'll fit great too. Right now I'm living in pjs, yoga pants and using the hairband trick for my jeans. I can still get into jeans, but they are starting to hurt after a while.

Well, that went much better than you expected. It's always a relief when it works out that way!
